haha, yeah i spose so. i guess i prefer playing against people i know mostly. and there hasnt been an FPS thats excited me the way Q3 did back in 99. , i sound like that fairy trance begic homo :(
supreme commander & neverwinter nights 2 are what im hard for at the minute. |

neverwinter night 2 is out? awesome! i loved nwn1, monks FTW!
although WoW is easily the best RPG game ever imo, u just need to have lots of spare time to play it at high levels.
played and finished HL2 last week as well, i thought it was awesome. hardly changed the gameplay from HL1 (which was my fav game of all time) but made the world look so good! at some points i was actually amazed at how good it looked. only downside was it was too short.
been playing abit of aoe3, single player campaign is too easy and short. might have to try multi to see if this game can redeem itself.
for online fps, a day of defeat: source mod has come out this week called prodod and its meant to be like real dod (ie dod 1.3 on HL1) but on hl2 engine so gonna give that a try to see if its worth playing dod competitivly again.
also have played prey and titan quest recently, they both suck IMO. |

AOE3 is wicked on lan, my bro used to me up good. as for FPS nothing can beat Q2 and COD1.
Call of Duty was fantastic, but the server emptied when COD2 came out :( |

nah, NWN 2 is pushed back to october :(
also, i hate to buck the trend, but WoW IS NOT a roleplaying game! its an action-adventure. theres no storyline, all you do is hack and slash and level up. theres no real role to be playing. there are no real choices to make. join a guild, hack and slash . might be fun, but its not roleplaying. |

| pkc have you been keeping up to date on the dark crusade expansion for dawn of war? it has some pretty sweet looking changes imo, the hero customisation and old dune2 style campaign map in particular. |

wow is roleplaying.
if wow isnt rpg then either is nwn, elder scrolls series, baldurs gate, diablo etc etc. only difference is that is a totally online. it does have a storyline. it incorporates lots and lots of warcraft lore and history into the game.
and damn about nwn2, looking forward to it. |

firstly, youre right. diablo isnt a roleplaying game. its an action adventure, or action RPG. but its not an RPG.
by your standards, any game within which you play a 'role' (ie virtually any game ever made) would be an RPG.
regardless of whether it has lore or history, thats not what makes it an RPG. its about playing roles. WoW is an adventure hack, nothing more. you dont make choices, you dont play your part in an epic storyline. you fight and level up. sorry. |
