So roughly about AUD$500 for a 2.66Ghz C2D E6700, 4MB Cache, 1066Mhz :wtf:
And that's only standard price. No doubt you will be able to find it for cheaper if you look hard enough for like $400, which is half of what it costs now.
And if you don't need that much power, $200 can still get you a very nice C2D. |

pfft
get an entry level and overclock it - the overclock gain is better
my 1.8ghz e4300 is at 3.24ghz
that's better than the best core2duo you can get. |

| I'll take the 4mb cache E6700 with its warranty and life over an OC chip with smaller cache etc. Thanks. ;) |

lol no way. It probably runs at about a million degrees, is inneficient and a major hazard, not only to your computer but to your warranty too.
I'll stick to a C2D anyday that's not overclocked. By all reports there really is no major gain in overclocking anymore, and that will be even more true when the quads etc come out. |

| nah it's fine. Under orthos load, it's high 50's, which is under the Intel max Tcase spec. :) And since that's Orthos load, real life applications and games are cooler! (Does it even push 50? Cant remember now..) So HARR! :D All it takes it not using the not so great stock intel cooler |

| If you're happy with it then that's fine, but once you go core 2 duo, you never go back :) |

the difference in cache sizes makes a minor difference at best, and will depend upon your motherboard making the most out of it.
CnC3 tibit from ign review
| quote: |
Those of you looking for a leap forward in gameplay mechanics won't find it here, but fans of C&C and fast action RTS games will likely find this return to roots very appealing for its pace and traditional play. While we were hoping for a little more creativity, we couldn't help but have fun through the game's long GDI and Nod campaigns and shorter Scrin campaign. The skirmish was also a good ride even with some of the balancing issues in play. If you're looking for a game that makes it fun as hell to blow things up and leave quickly, C&C 3 is definitely for you. |
meaning- "if you like playing the same game you were playing 10 years ago (and you havent aged and grown up in that time) then CnC3 will be good for you" |
