There are few demos about of some top 1v1 players pwning with just a goo gun...

The use of guns depends where you are situated on a map and the distance b/w you and your opponent... If you have rockets on Deck16 in the "Lift Area" theres more chance that you will pwn my barra ass if I had a shock rifle...Theres not much space for me to move... but out in the open space good ing luck with your rocket launcher... you would get pwned instantly with a shock rifle... Thats where you would switch to a sniper to 'headshot' me... because most people stand still when they are doing shock combos.... but to counter that I would do a moving combo..
so you would have to shoot my head as im dodging around.
The point of the post is - If you think certain weaopns are too powerful and youre getting pwned in a duel when your opponent is only using 1 weapon...? its probably because youre not switching to the proper weapon to counter.... |

onion onion onion *shakes head* ive been playing games for more than 20 years, and dominate at every FPS ive ever played (except blackhawk down, but that game was ) but i appreciate your patronising tone nonetheless :p
i do know different weapons are good for different situations. im not debating that. simply comparing the way in which weapons were balanced in Q3 v UT. im not an idiot and have played a fair amount of both, so im not some noob complaining coz im getting beaten, coz generally i dont get beaten ;) :D thus my statement remains, UTs weapons arent as well balanced as Q3s imo.
while we\'re here, UT is also a lot slower than Q3. my padawan is working thru UT 2005 (6?) at the moment, and goes back to quake and cant handle it, haha.
each to their own gentleman. but i really wanna play tathi in arena i must admit :D |

plus UT2006 sucks, it's sad to say but every other UT to come out is a shadow of UT99 |

well i played unreal, then UT, then 2003, and now 2006 (over the shoulder of my flatmate). couldnt tell you how fast the original UT was coz i havent played it in a fair while. but there are definitely only 2 unrealistic FPS shooters out there worth playing. nobody has come close to quake & unreal for sheer multiplayer awesomeness. |

| hmmm i didnt like total annihilation that much...i preferred dark reign at the time. but the whole aggressive ai owns me :p i like to sit back and relax, take my time instead of fighting off small rushes all the time and then getting owned :( |
