no mention of quake wars ?? :(

Haven't played the betas, so the demo was all new to me, and I've already got a preorder on this.
Anyways to my thoughts..
Graphically, great, and runs a lot better than I thought it would have! Was playing it on 1360x768, and I put 4x AA on thinking I'd have to turn that off or down to be playable, but no it ran beautifully! :O

Gameplay wise... I have played ET.. But this is a whole lot bigger, and open. I sort of dislike spending a minute to get to the action, kill a person or two, then die yourself. Can't really hide anywhere.. Although 1) that was only 1 map 2) Only played it for 2 hours, still adjusting... also I think a big factor at the moment is a lot of people dont know wtf is going on, because they're new to it, and the gameplay isnt as good as it should be... it's a bit messy. Even I was lost initially, and came out amongst the top few.

I think I would've preferred to see them stick with the world war 2 theme, but that's every other game out these days... anyways, still willing to play it some more.

um, its not the same company is it ??

did the demo ship with bot support? cant wait to have a look, but team-based shooters arent really my cup of tea. prob DL the demo tnite.

ive got my hands full with bioshock and online supcom anyway :D

and I *think* it has bot support but I didn't try
just went straight online, stuff bots :)

ET was a community mod wasnt it? quake wars is activision (?) so its not like they didnt stick to the "ww2 theme" coz really, this isnt a sequel.

No, Wolf ET was developed by splash damage, and while based on RTCW, was entirely seperate (standalone, not a mod.)
I believe splash damage are also behind Quake Wars ET?

Ive been playing since the first Open Beta [ Sewers map ]. All I can say is its one of the more strategic FPS games out there. Like Wolf:ET you need to play as a team, in order to win in the game. However unlike Wolf:ET - the classes are balanced and every class is important. eg - CovertOps can deploy Radars which allow your team to see the enemy on the mini map.

If your enemies have a Radar up and your team doesn't - they have a huge advantage. If they do have a radar up - you need to send someone from your team to blow it up and you can do that using your 'fireteam', Mission Menu and Context Menu.

Engies can deploy EITHER Anti Inf Anti Artillery or Anti Vehicle deployables. They are only aloud one each - which means Engineers need to coordinate and communicate the deployables they are going to use - in order to counter all 3 threats.

So what the game developers have done [ splash damage ] is force people to play as a team... but also designed a game that has so much depth that each class can be played 100s of different ways.

yeah I was playing on GA last night, and used to play ET a fair bit years ago, still some learnding since it's not quite the same

i think the biggest issue at the moment is that it's new, and most players are still adjusting/learning how to play it since most havent even played ET before. there's next to no team work on public servers but that'll change quickly over the next few weeks im guessing.
