I miss Sleazy a great deal.
And Genesis is kind of a brat. :stongue:
she was a brat in a way, but her energy was very vibrant and eclectic, and wasn't afraid to express her sexuality. :stongue:

I really can't listen to Psychic TV for very long, but TG's 20 Jazz Funk Greats is probably one of my favourite albums.
And Genesis is alive and well, it's Lady Jaye who died some years ago. :conf:

Just read that Universal refused to greenlight At The Mountains of Madness because they wanted it to be PG-13... well that's kind of depressing. Del Toro and Cruise both have said that they're still very much interested in making it happen, at least.
How ing retarded does one have to be to ask for a Lovecraft movie to be PG-13??! That, ladies and gentlemen, is why Hollywood is so these days: because it's run by mind-bogglingly stupid s.
Also, Tom Cruise does not belong in this movie.

You could do Lovecraft PG-13. Hell, you might even be able to get away with PG. There was very little actual violence in his stories, it was all just implied. There was no profanity, and dear god no sex - in fact, the omnipresence of in both Dagon and Reanimator is quite appalling given the fact that Lovecraft conceived of Cthulhu in the first place because he was deeply disturbed by pussy. :p
I believe Del Toro could pull it off... it's just that studios want the PG-13 because it's far more marketable, and so they end up just strangling the director by ratings goals for this reason. Wasn't Devil's Backbone PG-13ish? And Pan's Labyrinth could have been were it not for the scene with the wine bottle.

watched 13 Assassins last week
another takashi miike masterpiece film. you can't get any better than film in terms of action revenge movies with bloody violence and a great plot. if i could score over a 10, this would be a good chance. alas, i can't.
10/10

also want to note goro inagaki as Lord Naritsugu Matsudaira has got to be one of the best villians i have ever seen. he was a major bad ass throughout the film.

^ damn i've been eagerly anticipating that. Koji Yakusho is such a sweet actor. and miike is obviously top notch.
how the hell have you seen it already!? doesn't come out in theaters here in the states for another 5 weeks :( it's on demand in 4 days though...guess that's when i'll check it out

Don't know if this has been mentioned as I don't really look at this Thread ever but if it hasn't... here it is. :p
If you don't want to hear the back story and want to get straight to the Art action then skip to Part 3.
I will warn about the end...............

Now I don't know about the ratarded MPAA ratings system, so you might be right that it's possible to get such a rating. But if you do a Lovecraft movie right there is no way it will be suitable for a 13 year old kid.

I was about 13 when I started reading Lovecraft though. :o
I'm just saying there's nothing in his stories that really hint to gratuitous violence or sex, and certainly not any profanity. It's all just very eerie and only rarely do we get a glimpse of the creatures in question. Lovecraft's shtick is all about implications.
