Just watched Inglourious Basterds.
Oh my Lord. Superb film.
Enjoyed it from start to finish. I'm the sort of person who judges a book by it's cover so have written it off many times due to it being a WW2 film - but how short sighted I was.
Advice to anyone who has yet to see it:
See it. |

| I'm wondering if Cosmopolis might be any good. The facts that it's based on Don DeLillo's novel and directed by David Cronenberg say yes. However, it stars that talentless fag from Twilight and the trailer looks like a load of crap. |

My bread and butter is really intense, thought provoking dramas or thrillers. Preferably older stuff (1980-2000).
I hate horror, especially gory horror. Stupid if you ask me. Psychological thrillers though, those are awesome ;) |

Cosmopolis is ridiculously good and hilarious. I was laughing my ass off at half the nonsense all the characters spouted and some of the best moments were genuinely shocking and incredibly funny. At the same time it's all pretty dark and a brilliant satire of collapsing capitalism.
I haven't seen a better film this year, excuse me while I go buy the DeLillo novel.
Also, Pattinson is great here and his confrontation with Giamatti is the best. And the final shot, Jesus...
The overall tone of this is absurd comedy from start to finish. Don't go in expecting drama. |
