| I saw 1917 at the cinema tonight. I enjoyed it. It was tense, it was effective, it was emotional. The "continuous take" conceit sometimes stretched credibility in the transition between events and scenes, but it certainly made the film immersive. Good to start 2020 with a critically acclaimed film that wasn't utter bilge. |

Definitely will pick this up on Blu-ray. I know it's not nearly the same as experiencing it in a proper cinema with a quality setup, but the older I get, the worse my social anxiety becomes. At this point, you couldn't pay me to get out of the house and into a cinema. But, with all that said, I am always up for a good war piece. I really need to make this my personal "the year of 4K" for my home cinema set up since so many catalog releases have made it to 4K UHD Blu-ray, finally. I'd love to see Patton in 4K UHD. |

| 21 Bridges is a pretty good cop movie, not amazing, but definitely a recommendation worth I think. |

They could've done more with the idea of a dark origins Superman film, but it's worth checking out. A lot darker than I was expecting. :nervous: |

| The wife and I watched Knives Out yesterday afternoon. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved Daniel Craig in his role. |

| I am old school in the "you'll pry my physical media from my cold, dead hands" sense, so I bought the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital combo. I always redeem my digital codes to my Vudu account. I don't use it, but my older step daughter prefers to consume movies that way, so I let her use it. Even though it's a violation of the DMCA, I always rip and transcode, via Handbrake, all of my optical media. I make my own "digital copy" with the settings I prefer, and they are not encumbered by DRM bull and don't require "the Internet" to work. |
