Watched the new Top Gun: Maverick flick tonight. Really enjoyed it. A real blockbuster movie.
Incidentally, I also really like Edge of Tomorrow (2014) with Tom Cruise. Very good Sci-fi/action flick. If you haven't seen it, I definitely recommend it.
Not sure if this was mentioned, but Free Guy (2021) was also very good.

Wife and I recently watched and enjoyed both "Father Stu" and "Where The Crawdads Sing" on Netflix. We've gotten behind on our viewing, so I'm looking forward to catching up a bit on what we might have missed. For you physical media buffs, myself included, there's been a ton of catalog titles from various studios make their way to 4K/UHD Blu-ray, and that's always a good thing (to me, at least). I need to pick up Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Apparently they remastered it for the UHD BD release, and it finally looks like film again, as opposed to the wax museum that the 2009 Blu-ray was.

don't know how to link from twitter but here is all you need to know before watching the movie lol
Honestly, it's not very good. It's not quite bad enough to be so-bad-it's-good but it's definitely not good enough to stand up as an actual story. They could have come up with a much funnier array of human morons to get chewed up by the ursine caner. Felt like they just filmed the first draft of the script. " it, that'll do."

my opinion:
i went in expecting it to be as bad as macgruber- enjoyed it more than i thought i would. can't really hope for too much with this kind of film. the story made enough sense, the acting wasn't awful, it contained the right level of stupidness, and most scenes were actually in the realm of remotely possible (ie. pulling all your teeth and replacing them with shark teeth purchased at an aquarium for $5 a tooth). wouldn't recommend seeing it in a cinema, but would definitely recommend streaming it with friends. it is a B list film, but it does what it was intended to do.
cool seeing Ice Cube's son in the film. didn't realize how large he was

Don't you DARE talk about MacGruber. ing excellent film, that.

Everything you said is true. I guess the cocaine bear recommendation should be taken with a grain of salt and system j’s opinion might be better suited :(. That said I PM’d you a google drive link to the film if interested
