Maybe, but that opening scene with Eva Mendes was sick. |

So I got around to watching Big Fan last night [same writer as The Wrestler]. What a depressing movie. :o
I liked it, though. |

I had a let's watch a movie I want to watch and then a movie you want to watch night with my gf. We saw The Fourth Kind and The Blind Side.
The Fourth Kind was pretty good as far as alien abduction/horror movies go. The alleged "real footage" was pretty creepy and so was the performance from the actress that played the "real" Dr. Tyler.
I was pleasantly surprised by The Blind Side, since I expected to be bored to death by it but it was actually pretty decent. I really think Sandra Bullock did not deserve an Oscar for her performance though. It was a million times better than any performance she had done in the past but it wasn't Oscar worthy. Given the theme of the movie (white Republican family adopts a poor black kid and turns him into a successful athlete) I think it was more political than anything else. |

| Saw The Green Zone over the weekend, and it was better than I was expecting. Pretty much Bourne in Iraq looking for WMDs. Shaky camera didn't bother me as much as I thought it might. |

Wish Team America did not ruin that actor for me. |

I thought it was really well executed for a cop drama, which are usually a pain to watch. I also really liked the slow deterioration of Joaquin Phoenix's character and thought he was great in it. |

In the movie I saw the one guy leaves the Yakuza and Japan as they're going to kill him, or something along those lines. His friends help smuggle him out of the country and he goes to New York looking for his brother - who turns out to be a small time drug dealer. Older brother builds up little brothers empire, runs the drug game in New York, bad ass ensues. What did I see? Why was it different? It was on netflix, by the way...weird. |
Brother, starring omar epps and takeshi kitano. one of my favorite movies |

I can't understand this guy. Every single time he appears on a film the story is interrupted by oceanic amounts of blood and gore... and that's it :conf: |
