| Haaaaaa, the ing lizards out of nowhere was awesome. It was mostly a ing mess of a movie, but I enjoyed every slimy minute of it for some reason. I like to pretend it was all intentional, kind of an underbelly exposition by way of the imagery it used - close-up shots of snakes, lizards, dead gators, etc. It was just a really animalistic piece, man being the main animal. |

hey ******, i'm agreeing with you! damn mexi- peurto ric- argenti- err..
i still stand by my convictions though. i've never been so appalled by awful acting in my life. nic cage really tried way too hard to act like a cracked-out piece of . i mean, werner herzog is a classic director, so maybe everything was intentionally shot like that like hal mentioned.. but i just couldn't get past nic cage's bad.. well, bad everything. |

If you thought that you were an intelligent movie analyzer, don't watch this film or you will be prescribed Xanax.

Watched that for the first time (and in hd) the other day, quite good... but sortof weird.
It's like a story that doesn't really have a moral. Like, it doesn't even try to be weird (whether succeeding or failing) but just is anyway.
It's hard to hold onto. I mean, I own naked lunch and that's more straightforward.
I can see why mad world was a popular song though. |

+1. I've yet to see New York, I Love You but I've been meaning to. I doubt it lives up. What was your favorite short? It's hard not to love the Natalie Portman one - I really liked the gay guys language barrier one (probably my favorite) but also...the nick nolte short was great..and the Oscar Wilde one.
I could go on....
In other news:
I'm watching North Face right now and 'edge of your seat' doesn't begin to do justice... |

You should give the Director's Cut a try; it explains some parts by including pages of the book between some chapters
That being said, there is no real explanation to it.
The director doesn't want that, he wants people to come up with their own theories :) |
