The Guard I was checking out a couple of weeks ago and was kind of on the fence becasue of some mixed reviews on IMDB, but it can't hurt and Don Cheadle is pretty awesome.
what did you guys end up watching?
did you engage in successful acts of brolove after?

just got finished watching "Castaway on the Moon" (via Netflix) Crazy movie about a guy who can't pay his bills, jumps off a bridge and ends up on a desert island. There's quite a few twists and turns, and is overall a pretty unique movie. Definitely watch it!!

Not that every movie I watch is good, but some late night flicks that might be worth considering: Garden Party & On the Doll. W/ Garden Party being the better of the two. On the Doll is borderline wtf but not intense enough to make into that thread =)

Rampart with Woody Harrelson
real good acting and camera work
the only flaw is the ending

Finally got around to watching 'A Separation'. Highly recommended. I didn't read much about the movie before watching it, which I think worked in my favor. Also, the trailer doesn't give away all that much of the plot (which is a real joy).

The Hobbit trailer looks boring as death. I'm looking forward to the movie, but it better have a lot more going on than those clips let on.

I recently watched Bag of Bones. Didn't work for me. I'm too lazy for a long review but here are some thoughts.
[lirahtml]
1) Will these ******s ever stop with the cheap scares? It's lame. And please stop doing that when someone or something suddenly appear behind the protagonist to startle him. Seems like in movies every cleaning lady has Solid-Snake-like sneaking abilities.
2) Your giggling sucks, Pierce Brosnan.
3) The main character is OK-ish, but no one else in the movie feels like a real person.
4) When will people finally learn that films and books are a completely different medium? Stephen King is a great writer, but directly making a movie out of his plots has failed so many times. This one, too, just doesn't work as a movie imho.

P.S.: Judging by the trailer, The Dark Knight Rises looks like .
