Although the movie was mediocre, you were supposed to see this in a theatre, you cheap . Did you pirate Avatar screener, too? Wouldn't surprise me since it leaked with Russian subtitles.

Finally saw 2001: A Space Odyssey. Wow. What a cool movie.

It's also nice finally understanding countless Futurama jokes, samples of HAL-9000's voice (notably from my favorite music act Juno Reactor), & countless other references to the film.

Funny that you mention it because I just bought it last weekend. Found a special edition @ Blockbuster for $7. :gsmile:

I have not seen it before, but will get to it this weekend, I think.

Watched Sherlock Holmes last night and thought it was absolutely superb. Can't wait for a sequel.

I have a habit of going to the Internet Movie Database's Top 250 Films list & randomly selecting a movie to watch, in BluRay preferably. I don't know enough about films as I'd like so this seems to be a pretty good method.

Sherlock Holmes was a rogue liberal. So, no.

No, I have... but I just get a chuckle out of Robert Downey Jr. doing his British accent thing, and the whole Guy Richie directing style spin. It may be good for all I know- but I can't help but laugh a bit.

Coco Avant Chanel

Ahhh, I see what you mean. And yeah, it had a certain amount of kitsch to it, but so did the original stories and many of his cinematic incarnations since - I thought it was a great nod to a variety of Holmes interpretations over the last century. Downey Jr's accent may have been off, but the fact that both him and the actual character were both coke fiends was a terrific casting call, whatever the level of intention behind it. :p

I wonder who will play a competent Moriarty should they continue...

haha... yeah good point about the cokehead comparison. I'm not tryin' to hate on it. It seems like the kind of movie that's specifically made for people who like to go see something fun at the movies, like Iron Man. Nothing wrong with that. ;)
