Alright, this thread hasn't been bumped in far too long.

Biden, Edwards, or Bayh - who do you guys like and why? I'll be happy with Biden, like his voting record (for the most part), and think he has the foreign policy experience under his belt to carry himself in an appropriate way.

Edwards would be absolutely ing crazy - and I'm not saying I think it would be a terrible thing, a serious ticket that splits party lines would just be a first here, and maybe it's something the country could use.

Don't know about Fayh really....

I just got a text from the Obama campaign. His pick seems like good one.

Since declaring the Democratic vice presidential pick would first be announced over e-mail and text message, several hoax announcements of the Illinois senator's choice have circulated, purporting to be from the Obama campaign.

The latest came in e-mail Friday morning that hit the inboxes of many White House reporters, carrying the subject, "My Vice President."

The e-mail, from the address [email protected], was purportedly from Barack Obama and read, "I said you would be the first to know, and you are — I have selected Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine as my running mate!”

No word on when the real e-mail will be sent

Why?

A variety of reasons, namely, the fact that McCain is going to destroy him in the debates by giving simple, concise and hard hitting answers that hit people emotionally, while Obama's nuanced and detailed replies that cover the breadth of issues will leave people bored and uneasy.

This country proved it doesn't want a president who actually thinks about when it voted Bush in for a 2nd term, and I see the trend continuing.

McCain said he's going to defeat evil, I mean, why would anyone NOT vote for such a genius?

You may be right. That tendency was displayed recently at the Rick Warren event:

McCain gave the simple answer. Obviously Obama could not give a similar one, since he is pro-choice and the pro-choice position involves actually trying to balance the rights of two parties rather than simply saying "protect human life from conception, always."

People like simple stuff. Simple ideas sound principled and firm and neat -- but the world will always be complex and messy regardless of how clean and simple your view of it is; something a lot of people would rather not consider.
