*Speech Video* |
So I was definitely distracted a couple times when the speech was on live, so thanks for the video to watch it again.
After watching it all I can say is rarely have I been that glued to a speech - I thought she was composed, sincere, spoke in a tone and language that everyone could understand, and in general displayed a passion that I don't think has ever existed in a first lady before.
The best part of it all was just that she really, really feels like a proper stateswoman. Strong, eloquent, and I really did think she believed every single word she said tonight - so if she's a phony, I'd say she's a damn good one because I'm sold.
Her speech was the political equivalent of dropping a nuclear bomb on the McCain campaign. It will take a lot for them to match that kind of intensity, and to not sound like so-called "typical" politicians by comparison. |

The big difference is that I'd probably Michelle Obama, and Condoleeza Rice looks like a beat up, anorexic softball glove. |

It really is too bad America is sexist. She could easily be a great president. |

Lots of devotees of many religions.
I don't see it scary. As long as it's positive. |

:stongue: By the weekend her speech will be forgotten. It sure sounds like a wonderful story, kind of like how John Edwards' "son of a mill worker, family values" story sounded so great. We want to believe it, but it's just not reality. Nuclear bomb on the McCain campaign? that's laughable. A few months ago she said she has never been proud of her country until now, and that America is a downright mean nation (please see figures as to how much aid money the US gave the world compared to the rest). Now she loves America. |

That just proves she knows this country better than you do. |

Please keep trying as hard as you have - it's like TA's own homegrown version of Faux News, and I find it amusing.
Otherwise if that's not your thing, feel tree to head back to the kiddie pool so the grownups can talk about "big people things."
Or perhaps I can offer you this:
It's a cup with a handle that has a ball on a string attached to it. Try and see how many times you can catch the ball with the cup in a minute, and then go ahead and try to break that record.
