Fine, since you probably struggled on the SAT, I'll offer a little help.
Your analogy sucked for several reasons, not least of which was that both sides weren't parallel.
My statement ran along the lines of this:
Given that A, it's amusing that people assume B. about C.
I rearranged the order for it to make more visual sense, so I apologize if I've lost you.
Your statement was this:
Given that A, it's amusing that people assume C. (need I remind you that this C. is a verifiable fact, whereas B. was anything but).
So to make it more parallel you could have said:
Having been to McDonald's a few times, it's amusing that people assume the food is so bad for you when it tastes so good.
Except that now you're reversing things.
You should have said:
Having been to McDonald's a few times, it's amusing that people assume the food is healthy when it's really quite bad for you (yay now you've established a parallel correlation!).
Not that you need to go to McDonald's to prove this, seeing as how it's verifiable fact. And not that people actually believe it's healthy.
To your other point, that AIPAC is somehow a menacing secret society bracing to take over the Earth - I only tell you that from personal experience working with them, I don't think they're anywhere near as competent as your conspiracy websites would have you believe. |
You are a smug and presumptuous man. You've flipped my analogy around to make it sound like the OPPOSITE of what I was saying. You obviously just didn't understand it.
Your explanation was full of rubbish. You fail to realize that your claim that you've been there "a few times" makes your opinion automatically null and void.

This structure is nothing like you said, sorry.
Having visited AIPAC's main office in DC a few times, it's always amusing when people suggest that a group as unprofessional and unorganized as them could be running the country.
You might want fix that.

No. You've misunderstood completely. The analogy was mockery, sarcasm. I'm saying that I've been to McDonald's a few times (Not enough to acquire the adverse effects) and I am healthy (The ignorance). Therefore the claim, by the scientific and health communities, that McDonalds is unhealthy, is untrue. (My claim)
I thought that I had explained this well enough for you.
This is what you said.
Having visited AIPAC's main office in DC a few times (Not enough to know what goes on), it's always amusing when people suggest that a group as unprofessional and unorganized as them (The ignorance) could be running the country. (Your claim (You say they aren't))
There we have it. Simple.
You've tried flipping this into some conspiracy theory, when in fact, this is simple international relations. I never said AIPAC runs anything, you just assumed I thought so. Israel is OUR tool. We use them to justify attacking arab and persian nations. We use them for proxy wars. It's ethically wrong.
We give billions of dollars to Israel every year. They turn around and spy on us. We continue to give money after that.
Just look at our policy in the middle east. It's borderline racist. All because we want to continue our imperialism and still look like the good guys.
The Israelis stopped being the persecuted after they defended themselves against the ENTIRE ARAB WORLD in 1948 and they became the perpetrators by forcing the Palestinians into ghettos reminiscent of Warsaw during the Nazi conquest.
I say, let them fend for themselves. They wouldn't last a decade without western support. |

Ok, so as long as we're exchanging credentials, do you work at AIPAC? It's obviously upset you that I called them incompetent. Do you live and work in DC? Or are you just another college student who thinks they know everything about the hidden secrets of American politics? |

This isn't a hidden secret. Once again, you are trying to dismiss this as a conspiracy theory. Read about Obama's stance on Israel while he was a state senator in Illinois. Now see what he's said in his speech to AIPAC, and in his DNC acceptance speech. He's done a complete 180, and fully accepts the Israel lobby's beliefs.
Carter is the only one willing to stand up and say that Israel is an oppressive state, yet everyone dismisses it as antisemitism. A common tactic for people who wish to squelch any criticism of Israel.
Obama is a traitor to his dream of change. If he supports Israel, he's not willing to change a damn thing.
Not to mention, Obama said he wasn't going to play Washington's "games". He's lied to us by giving Biden the VP, One of the politicians whom is deepest into the political games, Biden is his worst choice.
Obama, liar, con artist, and shame old ! |

Everyone is Washington supports Israel one way or another, thats just how it works unfortunately. If they dont they have no chance in hell getting anywhere.
I cant wait one day to see America cuts its ties with Israel. |

McCain really just pisses me off.
He is beyond arrogant and is possibly the most broken record I have ever heard.
None of this is news, but it keeps bugging me more and more. I'm watching this dumb ass on Fox right now, surprisingly this moron that hates Clinton isn't handing him the questions quite as much as I would have thought.
Lower taxes and the surge worked but Obama didn't think it would!!!
His answer about Palin was great too, "She was on the PTA". |

Yeah and the main reason I'll never vote for Obama. Or anyone else unless they end their support for Israel. |

I don't think it's right to condemn an entire nation, as false as it is, because of the actions of it's gov. If Israel lost the support of the west they would get obliterated and it's not right for millions of people to lose their lives in any scenario.
That being said, what Israel does isn't right either and I'm by no means a fan. |

So you're just never going to vote for anyone then?
:conf:
Honestly, I really get bothered when people play the "I'm not voting because of Israel" card.
Israel is a dodgy situation, and I don't like what the policy the U.S. has pursued there that amounts to nothing more than them trying to have a foothold in the Middle East - but you're never going to find a viable presidential candidate who doesn't support Israel.
Ever.
So if that's your beef, you might as well just give up on the U.S. all together. At least be consistent if that's the drum you're going to beat. |

The choice we have isn't very much of a choice given it is between two fairly centrist parties which are both heavily influenced by the same special interest groups. Whatever I choose to do with my vote is none of your concern. Perhaps if more people voted for someone they agreed with instead of picking the puppet on the 'left' the one on the 'right' we could have some actual political diversity in this country. Please don't tell me what to do with my vote and don't insinuate that I'm not consistent since I have been a member of the LP going on six years now. Also don't insinuate that I need to toe one of the corporate party lines or else give up on my home country. |

I never said any of that (and I particularly didn't tell you what to do with your vote - plenty of other people waste theirs each year), and whether or not you acknowledge the realities of the political system in the U.S. is really your issue and not mine.
Single issue voters are an annoyance any way you slice it. |
