lol @ RJT's response
No matter what arguing and whining Clinton does, Obama will not pick her as VP. Neither will Obama need the special interest and lobby fundraisers of Clinton. The crazed Clinton supporters can join McCain's campaign for all I care. |

Oh man - it's even funnier the second time!
I really don't know how someone can say those kinds of things on TV with such confidence... Just ing hilarious.
:stongue:

JS: Anything 6 o'clock Terry Mcauliffe wants to say to 11 o'clock Terry Mcauliffe?
"Congratulations nominee Hilary Clinton." |
Come the on. :stongue: |

Anyone see the Daily Show last night where Stewart interviewed Hilary's campaign spokesman?
One of the funniest pieces of TV I have seen in recent memory - if the fellow believed everything he was saying, I genuinely feel terrible for him, because he was the most sad and delluded fellow I have seen in quite some time, and that's taking into account the fact that I post on TA and encounter sad, delluded individuals on a daily basis.
I wish I could find a video of it just so I could watch it again. Comic genius. |
Wow, yeah, he comes out looking like an idiot.... I think he took the "lighten up and be a little funny" memo a bit too seriously, he looks like a nutjob on coke (no seriously, he seems coked up)... I think the important thing is that Hillary's getting close to folding in. Anyone with a brain knows she wasn't going to do that asap last night, but it's obvious that her campaign's caving in, and maybe this Terry McCauliffe appearance was a mutiny on his part in desperation. You better believe they're not seeing eye-to-eye this morning, after that. |

So, No Quarter is now alleging more specific things about the alleged tape of Michelle Obama ranting against "whitey":
http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/0...buzz/#more-2922
| quote: | Here's what's known so far:
The Michelle Obama Rant Tape was filmed between June 26th - July 1st 2004 in Chicago, IL at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Conference at Trinity United Church: specifically the Women's Event.
Michelle Obama appeared as a panelist alongside Mrs. Khadijah Farrakhan and Mrs. James Meeks.
Bill Clinton spoke during the Conference, as did Bill Cosby and other speakers, but not at the panel Michelle attended.
Michelle Obama spoke at the Women's Event, but referenced Bill Clinton in her rant --- his presence at the conference was the impetus for her raving, it seems.
For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on "whitey", and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America. Her rant was fueled by the crowd: they reacted strongly to what she said, so she got more passionate and enraged, and that's when she completely loses it and says things that have made the mouths drop of everyone who's seen this.
The "tape" is a DVD that Trinity United sold on its website, and possibly offered free for download up until March 2008 when Trinity's site was scrubbed and the DVDs were no longer offered for sale.
This outburst happened just one month before the 2004 Democratic Convention, when Barack Obama delivered the keynote address. |
And Larry Johnson himself has claimed in the comments to the blog entry that "I don’t have the video yet. But I now know where I can get it." So perhaps if it exists, we'll be seeing it soon? |

And she wants to be the VP and have Obama help her pay off her campaign debt? her. |
This sentiment is extremely false. Obama can't WAIT to kiss the ass of every Hillary campaign employee and get the 49% of people who voted for her, and dare I say it, ask her to be his running mate. She was asked if she would be VP, she said yes, all of a sudden that translates to "she wants to be VP and have Obama help pay off her campaign debt." Give me a break pt. 2. |

As far as this "tape" is concerned, it's really put up or shut up time, and the more I hear about it, the more I'm convinced this fellow is full of .
All I see right now is one person blogging about an alleged video in the hopes to create a belief that something like this might exist (knowing full well that exactly what you're doing - reposting his blog constantly - is being done by loads of folks all over the tubes), which will turn into one giant game of telephone in which the desired end result is people saying things like "Did you see that tape of Michelle Obama railing against whitey? Good lord, what a racist bitch", even though it either doesn't exist or isn't what people think it will be. |

Failure so hilarious you can taste it. I think this thread will serve as a great place for people who don't have a clue what they're talking about to comment on the election, we'll keep my thread for the big kids.

This is just another example of treating the Presidential Election like a UFC match, with winners and losers. There was a time when the runner-up to the President became the Vice President. Obviously we don't do that anymore, but having Clinton as VP is one of the greatest strategic decisions his campaign could make.
Contrary to what you idealists think, Obama needs every bit of broken pieces from Hillary's campaign as he can get, and that's including her supporters. Obama needs special interests and lobbiers, he's had them all this time lol...

If you really did care about Obama winning, you wouldn't feel this way. |

He gets them by default - the only people who anyone should be concerned about being bitter are the Clinton supporters.
They've got McCain or Obama at this point - if they go the McCain route, they weren't planning on voting the issues anyway, but I have a hard time believing all that many people are going to jump ship just because Clinton is out.
There are a lot of idiots in this country - but I'd wager at least 80% of the people who will actually cast ballots understand the fundamental difference in ideals between the two parties. If they understand that, Obama doesn't have to do to win them.
Picking Hilary for VP, as I said before, would be an incredibly transparent move, even for a politician - and I genuinely believe it would hurt, and not help his campaign. |

Well I don't think whoever's holding it right now was going to release it until Obama became THE choice. It doesn't make all that much sense to release something with "shock value" against the Obama campaign that wares off by November. As for him saying, "Well, now I know where I can get it," well, that's just dumb, vids or stfu. |
