Tell me, since you're obviously the master of social policy, why this is so absurd. And why we shouldnt hold our policy-makers to these higher standards. |

Dictatorships spring up as the result of a massive crisis or failure on the behalf of the government. Ignorance is a factor too, while the American population largely believes they are the "most free" country of all, they'd probably be shocked if they took the time to read some of the lousy legislation that has been passed to "protect" America.
I hope Obama sets that damn Patriot Act on fire and takes a big dump on media censorship. Actually, get George Carlin to do the dumping, it would be more ironic. |
I honestly dont see how Obama can change anything. Hes just another politician, whose interests are not one and the same of the general public. All you people who think things are going to get better, are going to be very disappointed in the coming years....just dont say I told ya so.... |

| Do I see positive change? Yes. Do I see a lot of it, and/or the amount that the die-hard Obama supporters are expecting? No. It's just not possibly accomplishable. |

were u talkin to me?
in any case I think most, not all, but MOST politicians are lying suns o bitches willing to say anything to get in the good graces of voters. I believe Obama is one of those politicians...dont believe me? Research which bills hes voted on and what his actual stance is on many issues and you'll find more than a few contradictions with his campaign |

and just out of curiosity what is going to change? what do you expect to change? what do you think will change?
i may be wrong but sounds to me like its just this elections buzz word and if repeated enough times people start to buy into it... |

You're advocating the ban of a product because it could inadvertently hurt someone that it wasn't designed to hurt. If that's the standard you want to employ, everything would be banned - that's why it's absurd. You're just cherry-picking guns, but disregarding things like kitchen knives, baseball bats, and cars from your argument. |
