| Here's my thing. Johnson just gave out the information as to where the video originated from; a DVD that was available for purchase. So at this point, I'm wondering when someone with a copy is either going to call "bull" or upload it early just to with whoever is holding back on putting it out (assuming, of course, it's actually true). I'm surprised more people/blog-nuts haven't mentioned that. |

That point has come up on some blogs, but you have to remember that when the DVD was made (back in the middle of 2004), it would have been of very limited interest to most people, since neither Obama nor his wife had a big national profile at that point. For that reason, it's probable that not many copies of the DVD would have been made.
The video that Johnson is talking about (of the Rainbow / PUSH conference held in Chicago in late June of 2004) certainly exists, since it was publicly available for purchase for a while. The only question now is who has copies of it and whether it actually contains the "rant" that he says it does.
Personally, I doubt that it contains any crazy "rant against white people" by Michelle Obama. Johnson has proven unreliable in the past, and I suspect he is this time as well. |

Well I'm sure that it's fairly easily obtainable at this point. Might be a small amount of copies, but if people want it badly then they're going to be able to find some, especially given the hype around it. |

Yeah. It would of course be a huge advantage for Hillary Clinton at this point if her campaign could obtain a copy...
Anyway, Johnson's latest entry on No Quarter says that the only copies he knows of are in the possession of Republicans, who intend to release the video to the public only sometime after Obama gets the official Democratic nod in August, in order to cripple his campaign and make McCain a shoe-in for the presidency.
I'm taking all this with a huge in' grain of salt. But I'll still keep my eyes peeled I guess... |

First it was supposed to be put out yesterday, now it's supposed to be put out in August? Yeah, okay. And how is it possible that something that was sold to the public is only in the hands of Republicans?

Well, the original story was that it would be put out after the Dem convention in August. But then Larry said that he knew where to get a copy, and someone at No Quarter uncritically passed along some speculation by Fox News that a "bombshell on Obama" was going to appear yesterday. Apparently Johnson is now going back on what he said about knowing where to get the video. Like I said, the guy is unreliable and a huge Clinton supporter, so I think that "scare tactics" is the most likely explanation for this.
Although it's interesting to note that in all this speculation I haven't yet seen any Obama supporters come out and say directly that they think Michelle Obama would never say anything like what Johnson alleges she did. |

Maybe that's because they don't feel as if they have to lower themselves to responding to such ridiculous accusations?
:conf:
Honestly, this whole discussion has stemmed from an individual who represents the rusty -stains permanently affixed to the bottom of the barrel that is humanity. It doesn't surprise me in the least that it hasn't been addressed. |
