| I still lol when people say that the wealthy are being penalized. They're not. They're returning to equilibrium after a tard for a president gave them an insane ride. |

As simplistic as that is, its pretty much spot on.
, if I made 250k a year I wouldn't mind my tax rate going from 37.9 to 39% |

Again... Mel, look at this.

People who make above SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND are the ones getting less money. SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS. |

Mel's probably going to get a big fat tax break. |

| The income tax rate for the highest bracket of earners used to be around 90%. Reagan kicked it down to around 28% and it has never really gone up terribly much since then. |

The income tax system we have right now is still very progressive, though.
The highest 20% of earners pay around 86% of all federal income taxes.
The highest 10% of earners pay around 73% of all federal income taxes.
The top 1% of earners pay around 39% of all federal income taxes.

I think that tells more about the gulf between the elite and the working class than how progressive the tax brackets are. |

McCainites forget that raising taxes is a constitutional right of the president. Not only that, but Obama's tax plan gives a tax cut to all but the wealthiest Americans. These same hillbillies screaming, "Socialist socialist", are the very people who are going to receive a tax cut, GREAT THAN the one promised by McCain. |
This is what is amusing to me. Everyone I've heard bitching about Obama's tax plan, the first question I ask them is "do you make over $600K?"
So far not a single person said yes.
"Do you realize that under Obama's tax plan you will do no worse than break even but most likely get several times the decrease in taxes that you would under McCain's plan, all while McCain is giving the majority of the tax releif to the 1% of the people in the country making over $600K?"
People need to start worrying about themselves and not the people making over $600K. Do you really think that they are worried about you? |

Obama's tax cuts seem fine to me. He's only taxing the extremely wealthy and not their businesses but their personal profits.
A schematic could help him explain it better though. |
