Ron Paul got more than a fair shot - he is just absolutely insane. Read up on his voting record. It scares me.
And in any case, about voting. What's the saying "It's better to light a candle than shout into the darkness?" That sums up my feelings on the subject. Nobody thinks the system or the choices are perfect, but the totality of little things people do can affect the system even if one individual may seem insignificant. In any case, it's better than beating your chest and screaming. |

Now match that up with the rhetoric you hear in debates and tv appearances. And add that to the fact that his foreign policy is offensive to our allies, his overhaul of the federal government is over-zealous and stupid, his penchant for saying really racist and offensive things, and his gold standard is just bad economics and you get a frightening fringe candidate that should never have received his fifteen minutes of media attention. |

Another reason the Dems are in good shape - President Bush's approval rating was released today by ARG.
Approve - 19%
Disapprove - 77%
Yes, that is a record low. Take this into account as well - 40% of the country self-identifies as Republican, and even half of THEM hate this President. |
