you're wrong because 100,000 candy kids buy (have bought) tickets no matter what and don't care about anything except rolling balls and laying on the middle of the dance floor drooling
to be honest i wonder where the hell they get the money to afford to go to EDC |

Parents, trust funds, jobs? Someone is renting hotels for them in Vegas that is over 21 and funding their habit. |

Alot of them collect unemployment from the state. Seriously, no joke. Just talk to a random kandi kid next time and you'll get that answer |

It looks like Coachella is taking a cue from Insomniac..... They're selling tickets a year in advanced and no line up!

"We're excited to announce Coachella 2012 will be held over TWO WEEKENDS.
In an effort to try and accommodate everyone who wants to experience the festival, COACHELLA 2012 will be two separate events, held over two consecutive weekends. We will attempt to produce two identical festival weekends. That means same lineup, same art, same place, different people.
We know many of you were unable to attend this year's festival because passes sold out much sooner than anticipated. We were truly surprised by the overwhelming response and remain honored by your passion and enthusiasm. We also know some of you purchased through non legitimate sources and were inconvenienced, gouged or totally scammed. We hope that these changes will give everyone the opportunity to purchase directly from Coachella.com.
Passes go on sale beginning this Friday, June 3rd, 2011, at 10am PST until the following Friday June 10th, 2011, at 10pm PST. This advance sale will be the only opportunity to take advantage of the Coachella Payment Plan. Passes will be available through a payment plan of 10% down and 8 equal monthly payments OR by payment in full. The price of three-day passes remains at $269 plus fees for the sixth consecutive year.
Coachella Weekend 1 - April 13-15, 2012 | Coachella Weekend 2 - April 20-22, 2012" |

| What benefit does Insomniac get from not releasing the line up for this long? I'm sure Henry won't answer because he never does but anyone else? |

Maybe the line up is all unknown DJ's. Hahaha that would be funny as hell.

I honestly think that Insomniac didn't think they were even going to have a EDC (west coast) this year. That the deal for the speedway was struck at the last min and they have been scrambling around ever since trying to pull it all together.
I draw this conclusion from the fact that they released the line up for every other EDC location that wasn't embroiled in red-tap.
There are no business drivers or logical reason to do what they are doing except they were/are seriously behind schedule due to the unknown factor of if and where it would be held.

What you're saying makes sense. They should leak some of the DJs that confirmed through twitter etc. |

Except that they do the same every year and for the past 4 years the lineup has been release about a week later each year (this year continues the trend)
also henry has been consistently posting "the lineup is amazing hurf durf" (http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=10927108#post10927108), "you guys dont realize how soon it's going to be released durp hurf burf" (http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=10958827#post10958827) type replies which implies that they do have at least a majority of the artists booked, well, that or he's full of . Either way, insomniac = trash
e: this sounds kinda mad; not mad tho - going to see magnetic man and subfocus instead of edc :) |

But never THIS late....and regardless of what the party line is and who's towing it...the proof is in their actions.
They are losing business at this point and you don't do that willingly unless there is a bigger reason at large. |

^^^^^ yeah but you never know, maybe the reason is that they are making huge $$$ from all the e-tards and dont feel a need to book actual (or expensive, however it happens to be) talent

well, um, yeah... that's what a trend would imply...
(if it doesn't get release in a couple days then its even more than +1 week from last year, in which case the level of incompetence is accelerating we can reasonably expect next year to have the lineup announced about a week after the event) |
