I agree 100%, but knowing Insomniac they'll put them at the smallest stage like they did to all the non-headlining trance acts like last year

I'm not backing Insomniac in any way, shape, or form, but how many times have you seen a HCR artist on the main stage of a multi edm genre festival in the world? I'm not saying that Insomniac has been perfect (putting Gareth and Markus Schulz on side stages at previous EDCs was foolish) with lineups, but theres a lot of politics that goes into where artists play, and how long their sets are.

Hmm.... Both ID&T's majors come to mind: Sensation & Energy (and I mean this year.) Marco V, Marcus Schossow, and SVD represent the two labels I've mentioned and headline multi-genre events. PlanetLove in Ireland also comes to mind. I'm sure over the years its also happened at Global Gathering. Much as I'd love it I wouldn't expect Jochen, Leon, or SvR ont he mainstage. The US audience isn't there yet... but that may have something to do with exposure too. Hard to bill an Andy Moor, Super 8 & Tab, Roger Shah, or even Bobina, Darren Tate or Richard Durand getting the chance in the US. I just want them at an event. If its not on the mainstage, that's fine by me; less undereducated dance music lovers there means a crowd that may know the artists more which is a plus in my book.

You're missing the fact that Sensation and Energy are both primarily progressive and electro-house events now, not trance events, with Marco V, Schossow and SvD all having become much more focused on progressive and electro-house than trance. So you can't really use these two festivals as justification for putting an HCR or Spinning or Doorn or Musical Madness artist mainstage at a multi-edm festival. That, and Sensation only has one stage for the event so ya....btw this year's Sensation line-up is: Mr. White, AN21 & Max Vangeli, Fedde Le Grand & Martin Solveig, Juan Sanchez & Daniel Sanchez, Afrojack and Sander van Doorn. Once could make an argument that SvD is a trance dj but at this point he has become another Tiesto.
I agree that the US audience isn't educated on newer, up and coming (tech) trance artists but they probably never will be given that the majority of newcomers just want to dance and have a good time not connect with the artist and music. So I fully expect that artists like Setrise, Russo, Giuseppi, etc won't be headlining a mainstage at a multi-genre festival anytime soon.

Ah ok... I thought you might have been referring to Tiesto recently selling out (or whatever someone wants to call it) and claiming SvD is doing something similar.

lol no. Don't compare him to Tiesto please.
He mixes it up a lot more, but to call his style progressive house? nada. He's been tearing it up lately again, too. He was def going downhill for awhile there, though.

Ummm if not progressive house what would I call this Sander then? Last I checked Rave n Roll wasn't trance.
Please point me to a recent set where he throws down some trance like he used to consistently because I haven't heard one from him in a long time...

to me, progressive house = Hernan, Sasha, Digweed, etc.
