You realize Imsomniac won't give a about any of you because it's not like it's affecting ticket sales.

It sucks, but it's business. Can't blame them for there being so many suckers buying tickets blindly.

He was great at EDC 2009, one of the best sets of that event IMO, but absolute garbage at TAO, felt more like EDM you would hear in a club.

As for his Palladium show, videos of the event looked great. I'm not a huge fan of him by any means, but I think if he can find a balance of his mainstream stuff, along with some of the harder house he plays, it can be a good set.

And good grief, tickets jumped to $100 dollars for Friday and Sat? Are you kidding me?

Looks like the best thing to do now is buy the 3 day pass. Anyone know if I can give the 3rd day away to a friend if I'm all partied out?

yes - you get a credit card or something like that which will be loaded with the confirmation of the ticket you bought... so you could easily give it to someone else you want any day.

Yea, but if you never complain, then why bother trying to make someone, anyone change stuff? I'm not expecting Insomniac to suddenly release the lineup (as I said, what a change that would be eh?) but I still hope eventually they will learn.

Tickets are selling for really two reasons:
1) New location ala LAS VEGAS (you have no idea how huge that sounds to people. To me, Vegas is an over-priced over-rated thing, but its a cool place for what it is.)

2) It's EDC, people blind buy because they don't want to pay as much because of ticket sale price jump. EDC has become the US / West Coast's answer to Sensation in NL. Lame, but if you think about it, Sensation follows the same business premise as EDC. Release tickets early so everyone can buy them up, then announce the lineup later.

With one huge difference: They sell tickets at one price. When it's sold out, it's sold out. But they're not selling a small batch of tickets at one price, then increase the prices and repeat that several times..

That practice is a lot worse in that sense that it additionally creates pressure/panic on the consumer.. I actually never experienced that practice in Europe.

if they are going to raise the prices after each batch, they damn well should be releasing more of the lineup to justify(sort of) the price raise

exactly.

what they are doing now is just greed. no justification whatsoever. they've created a monopoly and are capitalizing off of it.

well supposedly 85,000 tickets have been sold over the weekend so maybe it wasn't them releasing just a small # of tickets!
