The best set I heard over the weekend wasn't at EDC... It was at XS!!! Laidback Luke was en awesome at the Afterparty. I was very let down with the first half of his set at EDC cuz he dropped all the cheese mainstream stuff, but what I heard from him at XS was en awesome! He had the club rammed packed from front to back and every one was jumping, screaming and throwing their hands up to his set. LOVED THE STAGE!!!! Sound was a bit too loud for me. My ears were ringing this morning. Overall, en awesome!
It was my first time at XS and wow, that venue if en sick!!!! I had no problems trying to get in at all. We walked right in. Security was really cool with my girl and I, but I did see them being jerks to groups of guys! hahaha That was hillarious. They don't put up with . Again, awesome club, but way too many jersey shore fist pumpers! lol Around 3am, most of them left and only the real EDM heads were left. It was really awesome than, too bad LBL stopped at 3:30. He just walked out of stage without saying good bye at all. Everyone was like WTF? lol

what he doesn't realize is above and beyond is going to be there way longer than his 'electro fad' music.
your'e entitled to your opinions but don't express your opinion right when the dj gets of or to the crowd for that matter.
Wait he actually said that lol?

he always does that.
i was reading his tweets yesterday from the past few days and he answered somebody's tweet saying that ya, i just leave stage without saying anything, i have a habit of doing that.
he's a very nice guy because he replies to almost 100% of the tweets people send him, but on stage he doesn't seem too friendly. goes up, gets the job done and leaves without interaction.

LOL... yea... unless you know him. :tongue3
Seriously, he always picks me out in the crowd (No, I don't burden him with getting me backstage or anything.)
He does reply to like 95% of people's tweets, and we walked right up and talked and shook hands at Encore Beach Club. His set at XS was like ENcore and EDC combined with a new twist. I wasn't able to stay that long because my body finally was done... 3 days of EDC and Encore Beach Club with Luke prior to XS had just about killed my feet and legs. I got back to my room and crashed.
As per EDC, my whole review will come later. Friday I had posted some stuff up, but I still need to write my other two days.

Drove out there with a full car so gas cost wasn't too much. Ate 1 meal a day (lol). Biggest cost was probably water/powerade/beer and mixed drinks we drank at the party. i'd guess the 4 of us spent maybe $1,500 total???
i'd consider going back.... depends on the lineup.
temps were fine at the event. only real issue was the shuttle lines at the end of the night was long... that improved the 2nd night but still took 50-55 minutes to get on our bus and i think another 45 minutes to get back to the hotel.... it only too 20-30 minutes to get there when going to the event.
Sounds like a good time.
I had dinner with one of my friends Tuesday night in SD and she said that she waited about 1 1/2 hours for a shuttle to get there from the pickup spot on Friday night at 7pm and 3 hours to get home from when the party ended at 6am. So she waited until about 9am in the morning in the Vegas heat to get back to the hotel. Sounds about right for a good party. ;)

That's why I liked his XS set! What I heard from him, he dropped ZERO HIP HOP / TOP 40!!! I'm sure he probably played it early on his set, but when I got there, he didn't. He did played other burned like Alice Deejay & ATB's Don't Stop, but they were his new remixes and the crowd was eating them like Free Big Macs! lol

ya it's pretty normal. i don't mind it, like woody said it gets the crowd moving.
he usually starts off with more pop stuff then gets nasty. i believe he played for 3.5 hrs at avalon on sat now, towards the end it was amazing...very hard stuff.
