ahhh fml!!!! So get this. My friends and I got in line at 8pm. We ended up waiting in line at the back entrance.. BIG MISTAKE. Since the line was already so damn long, we asked one of the security guys if the line was shorter at the main entrance.. BIGGER MISTAKE.. him and several other insomniac employees pretty much told us the line was worse on the other side so we decided to stick it out.
The line was barely getting any movement! So eventually I gave one of the guards 20 bucks for us 3 to get to the front. Thank goodness we did b/c if we didn't we woulda been in line for 5 hours no joke. When he dropped us off at the front though, we still needed to wait another hour.
TOTAL BUZZ KILL.. I didn't have internet access so I couldn't get any info on which entrance to take.
Anyway, I thought the set up was ehhh.. EDC LV did not live up to the hype. The mainstage is actually smaller than Circuit grounds stage.. that was just retarded. They should have kept the VIP on the sides only, instead of adding one to the back, which limited how far back the stage can stretch. And the CIrcuit Grounds had some ed up ground. A bunch of rocks n gravel getting in the way of my dance moves. It was a bit dusty b/c of that too and my allergies acted up b/c of that.
I have to say though, I'm surprised how well Tiesto played. He got the crowd going bananas. Just great transitions and song selection overall.
Anyway, Insomniac, please have someone qualified overseeing security/line organization, You're making so much money yet you can't get that aspect right even after 10+ years. You disappointed a load of people! |

My day one:
Caught the bus at the Mirage just after 1215AM and made it on to Kinetic Field by 1:05AM.
The place is huge...with lots of room to move around. One thing that I do not like is there isn't any place to sit.. So we end up standing from when we arrived to 6:00 AM.
The worst was the poor understaffed and not very organized buss departure. If you've been to Coachella, this was anything but!!! I won't go into detail but it was very bad.
All in all... Day one rocked...with very sore feet prove it! |

Royksopp - Very cool/interesting live set
Plastikman - ING EPIC!!!!!!! I think he set the bar so high last night with that performance that nothing will come close to it the rest of the weekend, absolutely incredible.
Subfocus - ing disappointing ass ........ Was very stoked to see him and he ing sucks now with this whole crap setup compared to how he used to be.....
Steve Bug - Very good set me my gf and friend were some of the only people there definitely prepared me for the techno today :D |

| Ya I thought CM was done for since they have disappointed me the last few times, but their set sounded like one of the best sets I have heard in a while, well at least what was broadcasted of it... |

| it took me less than 30 mins to get in, had a good time while i was there, but lack of sleep, and cramping calves ended my night early....plenty of seating in the food court, but u cant see or hear anything but the disco stage......i would guess there was about 50k watching Tiesto kill it....taxi situation was a mess tho, some cabbies were asking 100 a head for rides back to the strip, when its about a $60 taxi ride....i had to go back to pick some people up and the police wouldnt let anyone in the lots. so it took about 2 hours for them to find me, when we left the speedway about 830 this morning, still 200-300 people waiitng for taxi and shuttles...tons of people had to walk out of there for whatever reason......i was impressed with the stages, tho cosmic meadow stage, there was basically no one there the entire night....main stage, circuit grounds and bass pod tho, were pretty ing packed tho......anyone see the misting tent? LOL.......$15 for insomniac water bottle, water was barely cold, and since it was a metal container, warmed up pretty damn fast......debating going tonight or not...... |
