That's like having a press conference to announce that you'll be having a press conference later on this week.

Awwww that's cute, you're still butt hurt about the fact I found 95% of the lineup online before Insomniac "leaked" the official lineup and made you look foolish.
I just hope you realize that I may be one person, but there are thousands out there like me that will not support your greedy company as long as it continues to put out ty events and rape the customer of their hard earned money for an inferior product. Customer service, try it |
Jesus christ man, you are one bitter human being. Every. Single. Post. is criticizing a company you supposedly hate. Some rage is tolerable, they are way too slow at getting out the information and are acting more than poorly. But you keep saying the same , clogging up the thread with useless insults and anger. We get it, they are the Great Satan.
Don't go to EDC and move on with your life. |

| quote: | | Ok I'm going to tell my experience from working at edc 2010 and why these prices are justified. The local 33 stage hands were getting paid 400-1000 a day to build the raves.we had crews going for about a week and a half, of 50-70 people. Each small light that you see that charges colors and moves and spins, costs 900 a day to rent. 2010edc had the BRAND NEW models which were even more. You know how much steel and aluminum truss (ladder looking silver things for the structure) runs? It's not cheap.don't even get me started on the LED panels on the main stage. Those are easily waaaaay over 20k a day. Spot lights, lasers... Fireworks, chain motors, steel deck, tons of JLG/Unitec ariel boom lifts, any of forklifts any of semis... Audio equipment. This is only from the main stage I worked. And these are rented on a 3 day rental... But they're up for 2 weeks. Who knows how expensive carnival rides are how many more stages were there? Exactly. Plus they pay our pension and health plans... And not only the stage hands, they had multiple crews out.. This is their carreer. OUr head rigger also did Ultra. Location, venue, PERMITS. Add them up folks. Police outside, riot control, ems. Pyro and pyro permits, this means outrageous prices on LVFD on staff. Cops cost us 50 an hour just to film a movie where their Lives aren't even in danger. I can't imagine what they cost when they actually have to work.hiring cops are the biggest scam on earth I could go on and on. But this party is way bigger than 2010. From what I hear pasqual had somebody on the board at the coliseum... So that venue was even cheap. Doubt he has hookup in vegas I'm just saying.. You complain about the prices.. When there is way more than you think. Don't even get me started on POWER. generators aren't cheap. Diesel isn't cheap. you know how many watts they're running... You could electrocute the entire population of this country. Oh... And talent. Tiesto isn't cheap. No I do not work for insomniac.i work for the coliseum. I wish they were back for some more work (edc is the slow time for my job, I usually do lighting on tv shows) If you have any questions feel free to drop me a line YEA I'm going to edc this year. I happily paid my money and I know it's well spent.i bet those union IATSE stagehands have something of a pay bump in their contract for working in 100+ degree weather. Building those 75 foot stage towers isn't easy in the coolest conditions Any questions? Pasqual is of course getting money on the side, this is capitalism. But don't over look his costs though. Let's not even mention the amount they have to pay to INSURE their equipment and location. Biggest scam of all Talent insurance is the worst! I don't know if raves do that their djs, but insuring actors can make or break a movie budget Toodles. Ask me questions and I'll do my best to answer |

^I don't think anyone had a doubt that it probably cost a small fortune to put together what we know as EDC. All the stages at 2010 were first class and all with there on stage hands.
I guess when someone's favorite Dj isn't playing they value TO THEM (or that lack there of)is what we have seen expressed to no end in this thread.
It's a big investment and they(any promoter)have to do what's best for thir bottom line. This is America after all...and this is done by appealing to the masses.
EDM - EDC - Mainstream... |

I do think that insomniac goes the extra mile to give people quality production and Ive always appreciated the roaming street artists, rides etc. they may have dropped the ball with the late line up, thats why Im skipping edc this year, but I have no doubt it will still be a killer show production wise. |
