only went Friday and had a great time. enjoyed Plastickman immensely!
on the shuttle from the Palms to EDC, we were stuck with idiots behind us. once we took off, they started shouting "wheres the blow? who's got it? who's got pills? I've taken mine, lets get moving here!" just a bunch of rude "kids". "I cant wait to see Avicee(Avicii) and Ceedric Gervees(this is how they said the names)" they would not shut up :whip: I wanted to slap the bitches and school them on how the names are pronounced, how to handle their and how to not be f*cken obnoxious idiots. so my husband decides to with them and says "hey, what time does dead-mau-5 go on? I'm excited to see him." they said"its deadmouse" "no, its dead-mau-5...it has a 5 at the end" no dude, its deadmouse. the 5 is an s "no its not. its dead mau-5. are you talking about the guy with the mickey mouse ears" yea, that guy. wait, are you f*cking with us? OMG, I was laughing the whole time it was going on, this was the short version. the idiots turned out to be from Newport. this new generation has no clue how stupid they look when they mispronounce names and act like douches. where can they be schooled on this lifestyle? look how long it took us to get to this point and this new gen is going to ruin it for the rest of us. I blame dubstep! :haha:

GREAT POST!!!!!!!
My Wife and I have been having an ongoing conversation (and today even) very similar to this since the How Weird Street Faire in SF in May. We grew up in the scene in different parts of CA (She was in SD/LA and me here in Sac/SF)and ALWAYS respected the intricacies of this culture. i.e. roots of DJs (and Dear God how to pronouce someone's name, genres, history, and certainly how to have a good time responsibly....altered or not.)
We went to a UG recently here in Sac and were shocked by what we saw...just zero respect for the culture and history...and just an excuse to get f'd off. LOL...and we blamed dubstep. (and fidget and "nu" anything and so on and so on.)
One of the biggest keys to a fulfilling and sucessful "career" in this lifestyle and IMO the funnest part is learning from those who came before. I have thanked the person who opened my eyes to this scene countless times through the years and will always be grateful for what I've learned. Probably why we're still doing this into our mid 30s.
....and NEVER EVER draw attention to yourself like that....if you don't already have "something" it is real easy to find what you seek if you don't act like a in' douche/dumb hooker.
Sorry for the long and kinda off topic post, but yours just hit me like dead center in the heart....Thank you!!!!! |

I like how the police seem to like EDC over a NASCAR race...........
Officers who were assigned to the EDC, who wished to remain anonymous, told FOX5 the event is actually calmer than other events that come to Las Vegas, like NASCAR and the National Finals Rodeo.
"There are no fights here," one officer said Saturday.
Police say the numbers really aren't that bad, considering event promoter Insomniac Inc. expects around 200,000 attendees over the entire weekend. |

Royksopp put together a pretty solid performance. Played a good amount of their great tracks... no sparks or remind me though. Stage performance was great and the vocalist for What Else is There? and The Girl and the Robot was outstanding. They played a good part of the set wearing some sort of burlap sacks over their head or in costume.
Most surprising performance so far was the screen vis guy at the neon gardens on friday. He had a completely custom setup that was triggered by some sort of homemade keytar which he was playing in the sound/vis booth. Not sure what software he was using

Going to Thomas Gold LIVE in a moment. Looks like there's a bit of a delay so they put on some of the Cosmic Gate replay.
At least it's not more of Chuckie. Thank God for that! |
