| If VIP was 250 for 2 days last year, are we really expected to pay about 400 bucks for a 3 days festival? Yeah right, not in this economy. I can take a vacation to NY for a week for that much |

Ultra was $499 this past year for VIP and that did not include open bar. Coachella is $700+ for VIP, again no open bar. |

Yeah but only an idiot would pay that much with no open bar. The whole purpose of getting VIP is the open bar. And after the Beyond Wonderland bull, there is no advantage to having an open bar either if the same is going to happen again |

well i was more getting at your point of $400 being high... its actually low compared to those to events... i agree not having open bar at those prices is a bit ridiculous... |

well, one thing that needs to be considered here. Yea, it is a good chunk of cash for that,however...we are talking nearly the hottest part of june. Being a vegas resident, there is no way in hell i am going to be standing out in 115 degree heat for 6 hours, and then high 90's to 100 degrees in the morning and night during the fest.
VIP will offer in door support that no one else will get to take advantage of. Is it worth the going price? Maybe not..but at least one wont have to worry about heat stroke.
As well, the concessions at the speedway offer water in general at around 8 dollars a bottle of water...VIP will have this for free. I figure I will be drinking at least 10-15 each day. If I were a visitor,240$ for the weekend on water would be worth the cost
One may look at this as a moronic approach, but the person who pays this is actually going in prepared. Trust me folks, these elements here in vegas are not forgiving. Do yourself a favor and be smart about your time here...nothing worse than a good time being smashed by not preparing yourself for the worse |

scorpradio: All Insomniac events have free water stations now, if I recall correctly. It's an Insomniac policy. I heard they didn't have it on NYE @ TAO, but that's mainly a GoVentures event. This is Insomniac, so I'd expect free water, which goes through a filtration system they bring in.
It would be a big shame if Insomniac didn't have these things as they've been at the other Insomniac (only) events since last years EDC.
BTW, the company behind the water stations is trying to get the product on the TV show Dragon's Den. Read they even made it to the judges and you might see on TV this upcoming season. If they mention it being used at these huge events, it'll surely help! |

| free water stations are very cool b/c insomniac doesnt have to do it, in fact they lose money from it. I know people criticize insomniac on here sometimes but I feel like they try much harder than go ventures to do stuff thats special for us. |

| We get free water stations but lose any headliners. It's just going to be a bunch of local djs they picked up from the highschools |

as for the free water thing. they are not doing it to be 'nice'. they are doing it to show they are doing good will just in case someone dies/gets hurts from heat exhaustion or lack of basic care. similar to coachella.
100 degree weather, charging 3x normal prices for water and extreme dancing/crowds/activity can be a huge negligent lawsuit. |

DARE scared the out of me from doing any drugs until I was 20, and alot of my friends were in the same boat. DARE is a terrific program, to undermine its value shows a lack of intelligence and appreciation for something that is necessary in raising awareness to prevent a death if someone had used this resource wisely |
I actually helped out in the DARE program when I was in high school. I got to go 5th grader classes @ other schools and tell them the truth behind what goes on in High School in terms of drugs, drinking, etc.
The only thing I didnt like about those visits were I had to eat lunch with a police man at a Denny's type of place. Policemen scare me. Haha. |
