just sayin'.... |
I agree 100%
I am only 24, but i think i am too old for this new stuff... Then i talk to people my age who laughed at me, and made fun of me in middle school and high school for liking trance, and now they're all dub steppers and doing the shuffle.
I'm like, "wait, really??"
I don't mind the dubtrance stuff, it's cool, it's the drunk transformers noises that i don't get
How do you dance to this??

Then again, i loved From First To Last when Skrillex was there vocalist... |

oh, no. definitely, skrillex is complete and utter . it is garbage music.
you can listen to something like nero or magnetic man's essential mixes. it's a different type of dubstep... and then you'll get into people thinking those are bad too because they arent "real dubstep".... sound familiar? just like there's a lot of ty trance and house there is a lot of ty dubstep
e: and I just went to my first dubstep "party" (not in my own home) and holy , it was like a flashback to my first festival (monster massive) where 90% of the crowd was just dancing all the same (trance = fist bump, dubstep = the opposite).
Basically, I hate kids these days too. Get off my lawn, etc
e2: oh man, I'm 24 too... I feel like I shouldn't be feeling old but I do. :( |

Who was doing the disrespecting? I bet it was one of those electro dirty dutch commerical house DJs..
|
It was Afrojack. At the end of Above and Beyond's set, Afrojack goes on the mic to anounce Sidney Samson: "so what did you guys think of A&B? Honestly, they're not my kind of thing. But the next artist.. he's my kind of thing... "
These electro dirty dutch acts.. man, no respect at all. And every other word they say is a swear word.. |

EDC was a lot of fun last night, our only night.
We got there just before 1pm and walked right in. No line for the guys, but my wife waited about 10 min. Not bad at all. Security was really cool with me. They apologized for having to search me, and they said to me "I'm sorry, but we found a lot of people trying to sneak "things" in yesterday. Today's chill. It's a good night." They were right. It was all great vibes all around. I didn't see any e-puddles at all. Yes, there were people sitting on the floor, including me, but no light shows we were just freakin' tired! Than again, we were towards the back of all stages, I have no clue how it was
As soon as we walked in, we see the Cosmic Meadows stage. Very nice stage, but it was EMPTY! Literally. There were no more than 100-200 people. Bingo Players was on. We walked right through to the main stage, Swedish House Mafia was on. We were right in the back next to the Cavanas and sound was horrible. It was really hard to hear cuz the volume was low. We couldn't get into it, so we left to the Circuit Grounds stage. ATB had that stage ram packed! I think there were more people there than on the main stage. Again, we were on the back, but they had speakers set up there so the sound was good where we were. But we quickly left.
We saw the Heineken Dome and Donald Glaude was on!!! Holy , he was AWESOME!!! Def, one of my favorite acts of the night. The dome is tiny, probably 100 people max, but every one was having a great time. No druggies there at all, TurboSound, and AIR CONDITIONED! Fun times there.
After Glaude we went to the Disco Party. It was empty there. But, it was a cool spot to chill. Lots of tables & chairs. We followed right though to the Neon Garden. A-Trak was on, and just like before, I was really feeling him at all. So we skipped him and went to the Bass Pod. I was really looking forward to Planet of The Drums, and holy !!! They were AMAZING! My favorite act of the night. They had a SOLID set. The vibe during their set was pure win! No puddles, clean older crowd. Even Bunny from Rabbit In The Moon was on the dance floor dancing just like the rest of us. Than some huge green cucumber looking thing, and a purple monster showed up. They were jumping with the crowd. That was awesome.
Went back to to the main stage to finish off the last 30 of Swedish House Mafia and to check out Laidback Luke. The sound had improved a bit, we could acutally hear this time, but I still had a hard time trying to get into SHM. Blah! The biggest reaction from the crowd was when they dropped Daft Punk. Hahahaha When they were done, there was like a 5 min break between them and LBL. I would say a good 1/3 of the crowd left when LBL went on. His set was way way way way too commercial for my taste and opened up with some hip hop. BLAH! We stayed there for about 30 min than took off to see Afrojack.
WOW! The Cosmic Meadows stage went from being empty when Bingo Players was on, to being completely full when Afrojack went on. It almost seemed like he had a bigger crowd than Laidback Luke did.
We went to our hotel when Afrojack finished. Today, we're gonna check out LBL at XS. My girl loves that guy. BTW, did I say VDARA upgraded our cheap room to a full on 1 Bedroom, 1 1/2 bath corner suite? WIN!!!! |
