| i was told by someone involved with booking the talent for EDC last night that anyone who has any concerns about who will be playing... should be pretty happy with the lineup when it gets released. |

EDC 08's lineup was released in early april, as was 09. After that it started with Nocturnal 09. No names, no info, nothing. We are less than 40 days away from this event and no lineup? Does anyone not find this comical? Sensation White already had a lineup for 4 months before the event.
I bet if you put drug sniffing dogs at these events you'd eliminate 95% of the morons who purchase their ticket blindly. I hope Insomniac knows everyone hides their drugs in their shoes/socks, idk what's stopping them from checking them.....oh wait $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ |

I'd tell them to just announce it then. What's the benefit of this? Jacking up prices because you can? business that do that! That's called gouging. |

hey i'm in agreement with everyone that this is silly to not have more info out by now and i told a different person that works directly for Insomniac as much a week ago... but they have their reasons i guess... |

| The only conclusion is they don't want the people that would go there for the DJs but the ones that go there for the experience. I guess if someone is already decided they will have fun regardless of who's playing, this will result in positive feedback for Insomniac. At the same time, if having fun is because of drugs, it can backfire on Insomniac. Imagine what a death in this year's EDC can do... |

I go for the experience and the music, usually theres only a couple of sets that I love, the rest Im just along for the ride. for me wandering between stages, watching people, chilling is just as much fun as the music. Id say its a 50/50 split.
for me to buy a ticket I need a couple of djs know I can rely on like digweed, christopher lawrence etc. then Ill chance it with the rest of the line up. if I dont see a dj I can trust then I wont go. |

agreed. the massive lineups nowadays have become so repetitive not just at festivals but at avalon/marquee it's almost no point to fret unless it's entirely david guetta/will.i.am type bookings. if there is at least 2 djs worth seeing yeah i'll shell out the money since i won't be able to see EVERYONE anyways (timeslot conflicts etc.).
if they ever book a prydz, aphex twin, fat boy slim that's a major bonus.
after above and beyond for group therapy day 1 i heard one of those flier people saying they would be at edc on friday. anyone else hear the same? |
