I am not a huge A&B fan but I thought their set was good. I mean at these festivals. If it is not Afrojack, Chuckie, Benny, rusko, skrillex then for the most part people are not interested. Green velvet played some of the sickest techno I have ever heard but to a very thin crowd |

A couple things to mention,
UMEK was delayed because by 12:15 the techno stage was filling up and Green Velvet got on the mic and told the crowd UMEK was delayed. Then he started singing LaLa Land. Not sure when UMEK got in though, we left right after. Great set from Green Velvet though.
Above & Beyond was disappointing. They played really slow most of the set probably because of the house audience and whored out Group Therapy work. I left 15 minutes before they ended when they played Punk (Arty Mix). |

only went Friday and had a great time. enjoyed Plastickman immensely!
on the shuttle from the Palms to EDC, we were stuck with idiots behind us. once we took off, they started shouting "wheres the blow? who's got it? who's got pills? I've taken mine, lets get moving here!" just a bunch of rude "kids". "I cant wait to see Avicee(Avicii) and Ceedric Gervees(this is how they said the names)" they would not shut up :whip: I wanted to slap the bitches and school them on how the names are pronounced, how to handle their and how to not be f*cken obnoxious idiots. so my husband decides to with them and says "hey, what time does dead-mau-5 go on? I'm excited to see him." they said"its deadmouse" "no, its dead-mau-5...it has a 5 at the end" no dude, its deadmouse. the 5 is an s "no its not. its dead mau-5. are you talking about the guy with the mickey mouse ears" yea, that guy. wait, are you f*cking with us? OMG, I was laughing the whole time it was going on, this was the short version. the idiots turned out to be from Newport. this new generation has no clue how stupid they look when they mispronounce names and act like douches. where can they be schooled on this lifestyle? look how long it took us to get to this point and this new gen is going to ruin it for the rest of us. I blame dubstep! :haha:
shuttles back were a clusterf*ck! got in line at 545ish and I think we were on one an hour later but we saw other shuttle buses constantly coming and going. it took us 35 minutes once we got on the bus to the freeway and 10 more after that to the hotel. we were in our room at 730. it was after this chaos we decided not to go on Sat(we had no plans on staying for Sunday). we left Vegas around 11pm(recovered all day and caught up with some friends) and got home by 3 this morning.
Plastikman was phenomenal! I cant get over him. |

Shuttle service was MUCH improved on Saturday. Friday was a 45 minute wait at Mandalay Bay and TWO HOURS upon leaving the speedway at 5:30am!!! Saturday, by contrast, was a 5 minute wait at Mandalay Bay and about 20 mnutes upon leaving at 5am.
EDC posted on their website that another shuttle company was being used Saturday in addition to the original one. Good thing this happened, people were laying on asphalt pavement in the hot sun waiting to leave on Saturday morning, and the staff brought out some free bottled water and sports drink (good thing, as I thought for awhile that the casualties were going to be from the bus waiting lot, not the festival!) Sunday morning, a huge "waiting" tent was also added.
Highlight for me on Friday was Cosmic Gate, what a set! I overheard people talking about it on Saturday, they said it was the best CG set they ever heard). I didn't like Tiesto's set much, and Sander was mixed for me, some great tracks but also a lot of really hard bass tracks, which wasn't so enjoyable being front center two people from the stage! :crazy:
Saturday night's crowd was awesome, Umek was best set of the night for me, closely followed by Gaisen and Green Velvet. I enjoyed A&B's set a lot, but admit that they play what most people want to hear, which are their signature Anjunabeats tracks.
Sunday night here we come! :D |
