http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/mdm...lth_water.shtml
"The human body (as with other animals) maintains an equilibrium of electrolytes including salt in the bloodstream as part of its normal operation. Sweating causes the body to lose salt, but the primary cause of hyponatremia in Ecstasy users is drinking enormous amounts of water, which dilutes the salt in the body to a dangerous level. Unfortunately as the electrolytes get out of balance, body systems start to fail and (because of the blood brain barrier), the sufferer starts to exhibit signs of crisis such as diarrhea, over salivation, stupor, vomiting, muscle tremors, confusion, frequent urination, and other general symptoms of illness, and their brain begins to swell. This swelling is called a 'brain edema' or 'cerebral edema' and can (and does) lead to brain damage, paralysis, and death.

According to C. Haller, MD from the California Poison Control Center in San Francisco, hyponatremia (although actually rare among users) is one of the most common causes of ecstasy deaths or serious injuries. In England, perhaps the most notorious death associated with Ecstasy in the mid 90's was Leah Betts. Sadly, Leah died after taking Ecstasy for her birthday with friends and then drinking enough water to cause her death.

The dangers of drinking water obsessively while high are real. If you're drinking a lot of water, in any context, mixing in some salty snacks or drinking sport drinks will keep your salt and electrolyte levels healthier and can prevent hyponatremia. People on E very often do not want to eat anything, so salty snacks tend to be a ineffective option. While some people find these sugary/salty drinks are unappealing, others find that they quench the thirst better than water...and they can definitely help prevent both hyperthermia and hyponatremia"

I am just playing devils advocate because no one knows the truth, I don't even think Sasha knew her self. I could be wrong ya, but who knows the truth, will we ever know the truth?

I rememberer when this first happen a lot of you pieces of were talking so much about the girl. I was one of the FEW people that was on her side. Everyone else was "ohh she was this...ohh that." Are most of you mother ******s that DESENSITIZED to death? Has the war in Iraq war the war in Afgan the war all over the world made you think that a human life wasn't a big deal? Image if she was your daughter your niece you etc...would you guys be ting on her the same way?

I'm getting pissed off just thinking about this again. You people that were in the original thread, bashing her death and making fun of her...think about it...how has your karma been the last year? All I can say is mine has been GREAT!!!

Don't bring up an issue that we've discussed a million times, especially if you side with the girl. Anyone with common sense has every right to bash and ridicule this girl's death and her parents for suing Insomniac.
The fact that this dumb bitch wasn't paying attention in her DARE classes and not aware of the dangers of doing drugs as a teenager is why I along with tens of thousands of Californians have to drive 300 miles and suffer in 110 degree weather to enjoy one of the best EDM festivals in the world

As far as Karma, It's been some of the best 8 months of my life

Yeah, DARE is such a valuable source of drug safety information.

I'm more inclined to blame the people who overreacted to her death. She's paid a high price for her mistake. Too high. But god forbid you're inconvenienced in any way.
fantasyexctasy
DARE scared the out of me from doing any drugs until I was 20, and alot of my friends were in the same boat. DARE is a terrific program, to undermine its value shows a lack of intelligence and appreciation for something that is necessary in raising awareness to prevent a death if someone had used this resource wisely

Wow were still talking about the death of that irresponsible girl? I thought we've moved on.
theSEAN
yea, i think we all get it. the girl/her parents/her friends/insomniac's bad whatever/water/(insert noun here) was irresponsible for her death. it's definitely sad, it's definitely tragic, it's definitely stupid, it was definitely preventable. let's move on.

this is EDC, you have to blindly buy tickets (which go up in price every year) and hope the lineup is good (which goes down every year)

90% chance we will have a lineup released sometime in june, 10% chance they wont release it at all B-)
