Ask me a pointed question and you'll get your answer.

I'd like to know why you two thought that what she said about hydrocarbons was out of context, and incorrect

Any input about that?

And I'm still waiting your input about my question. Does being captured in war demonstrate that you know how to win it?

What is it that she said that you would like explained for you?

You can pass off your own ignorance to a point, but if you don't even know or understand the question you're asking, why should I bother answering?

To be honest, I think you're playing fast and loose and would like to see how far you'll push it. :)

"Hydrocarbons" is a very vague buzzword.

It's not technically out of context.

Anything containing a carbon chain with hydrogen substituents is a hydrocarbon. So .. oils, fuels, etc are hydrocarbons.

So are the building blocks of human life.

Broad scope there, huh.

I chose not to respond to your question because it is so completely ing ridiculous.. it actually pisses me off.
In war, lives are lost and people are captured. It's unfortunate. War is unfortunate, but it's sometimes necessary.
John McCain being shot down and captured when he was a young fighter pilot has absolutely no relevance to his ability to lead this country now.
Where was Obama during that time? Kenya?

you.

And for the record, this is what she said:

quote:
So even in dealing with climate change, it's all the more reason that we have an "all of the above" approach, tapping into alternative sources of energy and conserving fuel, conserving our petroleum products and our hydrocarbons so that we can clean up this planet and deal with climate change.

"Conserving our hydrocarbons" does not compute. Any idiot who understands what a hydrocarbon is should get that, unfortunately I'm certain there are many "any idiots."

The notion of needing to conserve them was - at least I thought so.

It's like saying "We need to conserve matter, because we need matter to do things."

from an (ex)-Palin supporter at another board Im on:

quote:
First half Palin did pretty well, however, the second half she ignored the questions that she did not know how to answer and basically repeated everything she said in the beginning. Im for McCain but after realizing how incredibly stupid Pailin is I probably will skip the vote this year  Biden knew what he was talking about even though I didn't agree with anything said.

I agree. It wasn't used out of context. You were quick to write that she should "go back to grade school", however. I didn't understand why.
