The thing that I love about all of this is the sheer ignorant hypocrisy from the voters on the right side of things touting their small-town, all-American beliefs. They're the "real" Americans who know what it's all about; their son is over in Iraq while their father works on the farm and the mom sets warm apple pie on the window sill, and their family has a deep political history jetting back to the Revolutionary War. They believe in freedom of speech and the right to bear arms. They're the "greatest" American because they believe in and support everything that America stands for.
But, they don't think a black person should be president because it's "not right." Umm, what was that whole, "melting pot, everybody's equal" thing that America was so big on? :conf: |

| Hmm, I don't hear most righties taking the race angle. The most popular refrain seems to be "Obama is a communist!" or "He's friends with terrorists!" |

So am I.
As far as I know polls show that few people are concerned with a candidate's race. Polls can be wrong, of course... |

This is true. However, the polls are covering the opinions of both Democrats and Republicans, while I'm only referring to one end of the spectrum. |
