Why Palin's Palin around with terrorists charge is not only wrong and stupid, but dangerous. If not already proven by the "Kill Him!" and "Terrorist!" exclamations coming from the people attending those rallies. Seriously, listen to this, it's disgusting what the far right has been doing:
Here in the UK, according to the independent media - BBC, Sky and the newspapers - he didn't blow it - but he didn't do enough to catch up with Obama.
For the record, most people I know would like you all to vote for Obama..

Well at this point, not winning is equivalent to blowing an opportunity. McCain needs to play catchup in a bad way, and scathing character assassinations aren't going to cut it, so he needed to show some distinction on issues last night and he didn't do it.

I apologize if I sound like a broken record. But once again, Obama won the debate according to essentially every objective metric. And recall that, even if the debate were a tie, this would not have helped John McCain; he needed a clear win tonight. Instead, he's continued to dig himself into a deeper electoral hole.
The sense I had tonight was that McCain was overcoached -- that he was trying too hard. I don't think that he made any significant tactical errors. But he came across as nervous and awkward. And he is longer really fighting on a level playing field. In order to win this election, McCain needed to keep the Republican brand at arm's-length. He had largely managed to do that until the Lehman Brothers collapse scared the Hell out of Main Street and reminded everyone of the failures of the status quo. McCain needed to empathize on the economy; his "fundamentals" comment made that very difficult. He needed to find some way to position himself in opposition to Senator Obama on the bailout, but he had boxed himself in with his gambit about suspending his campaign. McCain lost tonight, but the reasons for his failure stem from long before this evening.

Although I watched the debate, I decided that tonight I didn't want to waste my time with a bunch of drugged up losers in a tranceaddict thread.
I absolutely love when people drop this line in here as if they're the only person on a forum of 75,000 members who holds down a steady job and isn't a hopeless degenerate.

Is it just me or does cindy mcain personify why plastic surgery doesn't work for everybody...... When she chose her smile out of the sears catalogue, she should have put her glasses on first...... thank god she comes from the brewmaking clan, cause it would take a load of beer to get me to sleep with that plasticized hag......

There is a difference between Kerry and Gore.
Neither of them had quite as substantial a lead at this point I don't think.
Neither of them were dominating an issue that was off the charts in importance to the American people.
The closest thing were Bush' scare tactics in the 2004 election.
And lets not forget that Clinton pecker slapped Bush in all the debates and went on to win quite safely!
