Actually, there's some compelling arguments to be made for early voter turnout. 500,000 people have voted in Georgia already - more than the number that voted early in 2004. And of that number, 39% are African-American, even though they represented only 22% of the vote in 2004.
So you can extrapolate an unexpectedly high voter turnout among Democrats from that, since they have a more motivated support base.
