So ... if that's your opinion.. how do you think Obama is going to change the US for the better? Just out of pure curiosity. | He will change the face of the U.S. in the eyes of most of the world. Not as in just a fresh face, but the entire foreign policy and being able to speak to world leaders instead of ignoring them because they believes are different from his own.
Foreign policy is pretty much all i care about. I wont be living here soon so i could care less about the other stuff. Obamas plan for health insurance and tax cuts for most of the country, but an increase for the people making over 250 also makes sense. I cant see McCains plan of cuting taxes for everyone working. |

So here's where we learn that being an Obama supporter = anti-American.
Yeah, I can see why you thought the tone in this thread was uncivil. NOT. |
It's not Rob's undivided support for Obama that made me view him in that regard.
It was this comment:

Let me be the first to say it - John McCain spent 8 years in a prison camp as a POW for a pointless war doing absolutely nothing, NOTHING to help his country.
I don't ing care if they castrated him with a butter knife and then forced him to watch incest themed porno while having peppers shoved up his as for 16 hours a day - what have you done for me lately? Or really, at all? |

It was this comment: | Spending 8 years in a prison does not help you become a world leader. A monkey can spend 8 years in a prison ffs. |

I never once said the reason I am supporting McCain is that he served as a POW in Hanoi.
I'm not sure why that was automatically assumed. |

Yes, I viewed that post as very ... frustrating.
That sort of disrespect to someone who was serving his country in a war, and spent 5* years being tortured, is astounding to me. |

many people (read: GOP) think of Democrat supporters as being anti-American. This is primarily a defensive reaction aimed at diverting attention from the fact that their party mistakenly started a war. |

lol its a job decision. If they could of been doctors, trust me they would of picked that instead. |

I wasn't claiming that Democrats are anti-American, and I don't think the war was a mistake, either. I think that things were overlooked, but I feel that the US' presence there was, and is, necessary. |
