Maybe among people living below the poverty line who havent had enough exposure to have a mind of their own. In the United states , the problem is that even a large amount of the educated working class havent had enough exposure to have a mind of their own which is just another argument to showcase how poor the American high school system currently is.
I actually had a 14 year old come to me and ask me if we still ride elephants in India and then she bought it when i told her that India is now ruled by the French and riding elephants is a crime in France so we can no longer keep them. To add to that, many people i talk to about the election here say 'Im not aware of whats going on but i really should be' And this is in California.. dont even want to fathom what they do and believe in the Southern states.
The american public is so obsessed with celebreality and soap operas that your politicians are resorting to similar tactics to win voters over by talking about their past and how much strife they went through in their life and overcame it to reach this position rather than talking about their policies and how it would benefit the american people. It would be fantastic for one of the contestants to actually come forward and throw in some statistics about how much % would their Policy reduce the issue it was meant to combat for the American pepole but i dont think the public even cares about that.
Seeing that dumb Hillary supporter babbling on on Larry King about how she believed that Barack Obama would need to personally reach out to her and earn her vote because he neglected her in the primaries pretty much makes me believe that the country is going to continue to be in Republican hands come next year because the supporters seem stuck on their Obama may have beaten us in the battle but we can still screw him over in the war attitude.
Dont be surprised if the next election has a freestyle battle rather than a debate between the candidates.
Ofcourse the american news channels arnt doing their cause any favors. I dont know what could highlight America's lack of exposure to global affairs than CNN preferring to cover a bear climbing up a tree rather than the Ukraine government being on the verge of being dissolved. Infact, you only find two international headlines in the whole page and that to under the more news section. In contrast , if you to bbc.co.uk , they have a separate section on their homepage for each of the continents than the two international topics that CNN places near the bottom of their homepage.
Seriously , if Mccain and his 'I broke 25 bones for my country and elected eye candy as my running mate so i should win' campaign actually wins the white house , America's global image and awareness is only going to get further tarnished. |

I'm fairly sure it will just disappear all together. I can't imagine the rest of the world suffering another U.S. election blunder too lightly.
I certainly wouldn't let us off the hook. |

"I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities."

I may not understand childbirth, but I do understand that if we catch the vice presidential candidate lying about something that doesn't even have to do with politics 3 days after she is announced, we have a right to go "wow, she probably won't be running the country very honestly" | her daughter being preggers is not a lie. Conspiracy theories don't count.
I don't need to think about my choice and the reasons for my choice. I can think very well and I do know the facts.
respect it, bitches!
Again, nonsense about the people calling those who do not think the way THEY THEMSELVES think as being stupid or idiots. :o |

It's true, Chicago didn't get any earmarks out of it.
