If anything, he tried desperately to convince people of this - and failed miserably because Obama had a response grounded in specific, citable fact to every ty accusation McCain threw at him, and this is something even the most die hard of republicans have admitted today.

If anything, he only showed that Obama has thought about his economic and foreign policy far more than McCain has himself, and that beyond outright lies, buzzwords, and absurd accusations about Joe the (unlicensed so I'm not even a) plumber he really had little substance to offer anyone.

Really you have to be quite daft or simply a committed troll to be drinking the McCain Kool Aid anymore.

To be quite honest I thought Obama did well in the debate last night. I felt like McCain spent too much time attacking Obama vs. promoting himself. Regardless of the question, McCain always seemed to revert back to Obama raising taxes. I don't think the constant attacks helped him out at all.

I think Obama is an excellent speaker. He's obviously intelligent, and very confident and calm under pressure. I think this fact alone has persuaded many voters. I do not, however, trust him- especially with foreign policy during these times. I've already explained and been attacked for my stance on the current situation in Iraq, etc. so I'm not going to get into it further. I'll continue to sip on the McCain Kool Aid.

Given you live in Chicago, I am quite pleased to say that no one cares that you support McCain.

Illinois is a guaranteed blue state, therefore your vote means absolutely nothing.

Yep, I already took that into consideration. And, since I'm in the Air National Guard and currently residing in the lovely state of Ohio - I took the liberty of registering in this state to vote.

Also, since you live in Canada- nobody cares who you support, either.

That's unfortunate.

I can't help but feel that the republicans are losing on purpose?
why the nominate a derelict old cunt to run as president? why on earth pick the biggest ing retard on the planet as his running mate? one of who was under investigation for abuse of power?
there have been so many ing mistakes by them, I cannot possibly believe they can be all accidental.

I'm not sure what the feeling is in the US, but in the UK it's felt that the next election will be a good one to lose because of the current political and economical climate...

in 4 years time will the republicans have a candidate capable of winning an election?
RJT
I'm worried Obama is going to suffer from Jimmy Carter syndrome - in 76, the GOP just knew it was time to hedge their bets and run a candidate who didn't have a chance (especially following the Nixon scandal), so they basically gave the election to Carter and allowed him to take the brunt of the shattered economy and corrupt government he was inheriting.

The GOP took 4 years to refocus their base, came out with Reagan in 80, and absolutely ing mopped the floor with Carter.

People thought the same would happen with Clinton, but he managed to be far more capable than even the majority of my favorite writers thought he was (HST was notorious for having some bad blood with Clinton), I'm hoping Obama will be a Clinton, and not a Carter.
