yawn. there's just as many, if not more rave reviews by respected people that say the opposite. Home run for Palin. Dems should be scared. Mark my words, their low expectations for her will be their demise
And in any case, I've only posted comments from conservative commentators (with the exception of Josh Marshall) thusfar - I haven't even made it to the more liberal blogs yet.

Oh, he's right. There are plenty of raving reviews at places like The National Review, The Weekly Standard (and I'm sure The17sss can point out, rushlimbaugh.com) - the media is complicit in all of this though.
You see, they hate John McCain... yet gave Sarah Palin the gift of lowering expectations so much that all she had to do was finish the speech to be hailed as a hero.
Oh, my bad. I read the part where he used the phrase "respected people" and instantly thought each of those publications was disqualified. :p

so what are you saying, rave reviews don't count unless they come from left wing sources? lol. Give me a minute and I'll provide.

Remember, he's waxed poetic about the journalistic integrity of Rush Limbaugh, of all people.

No, I'm just showing you that some of your fellow conservatives were capable of looking beyond the media's low expectations and digest the meat of the speech.
Who cares how many applause breaks she got at her own coronation, or how she didn't stumble, or how her jokes mocking an admirable post-college career choice got snickers?
Critique the meat of the speech for us.
You still haven't risen to the basic challenge I laid down in PDD on Monday:
Given that John McCain has again and again warned of the critical importance of national security experience during this election, how can you defend the nomination of a woman who had never even gone on record with anything resembling an OPINION about foreign policy and/or national security, and that he didn't even take the time to vet her. Is that the kind of decision-making process that you want in a commander-in-chief presiding over a multi-front war on terror (a war on an ideology, by the way, that we are not likely to "win" as Giuliani promised McCain would do).
Riddle me that, Batman.

I thought it was a good speech...I hate her and everything that she stands for, but she did a good job and ignited the base.
That said, I thought she was an insulting, condescending bitch, so I hope Obama and Biden don't play with kid gloves in dealing with her.

lol.. yeah.. I think her and Biden should be fun. much more then the presidential debates.
wonder who'll do the low-blows first. :stongue: my guess is palin.

So Palin decided to compare her mayoral experience with obama's first job as a community organizer. Wouldn't it have made more sense to compare her first job, rather than her third or fourth?
But yeah, community organizers are the college graduates we should be mocking.

Palin = Creationist
That pretty much ends the discussion about her merits imo.
Not a lot here yet from the Weekly Standard guys, but I was watching the live commentary about 15 minutes ago and all of them were about to blow their load over the speech, as were the people from Real Clear Politics. http://www.weeklystandard.com/Weblo...FPView.asp#8497
most commentary I've seen live on tv is not posted yet. But I've been flipping through the channels (except for MSNBC) and Ive seen a wave of praise. Wait till tomorrow and I'll shower you with positive reaction links... still too soon after the speech to see the read meat posted on line
