Zero respect from me.

There are people who are sitting in the detention center who were protesting peacefully, and even people who weren't protesting at all and were just caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The police have been holding people at Queen & Spadina, and have been for over 3 hours, in the cold and rain without washroom breaks, no water, no food and no explanation of what is going on and when they will be allowed to leave. Their phones, cameras have been broken because of the rain. There are people in the crowd who were just passing by.

What has gone down by law enforcement officers this week has angered and disgusted me beyond belief, and I hope those responsible for these violations of basic human rights are brought to justice.

I would have refused every single time.

The police were a complete disgrace. Disgusting behaviour. There better be consequences for what happened here this wknd.

Although I don't agree with what the cops have done, why would anyone who wasn't there to protest go down there just to spectate and then bitch afterwards about being held. If you don't wanna get caught up in then don't go somewhere. It isn't as if they didn't know what could happen, lol.

As for the kids, that is horrible, but again... why would you bring your children down there to deal with this either.... stupid parents!

Edit: What is disgusting though is the story from one of the ladies released from the detention centre about women not having doors on their washrooms and specifically one 17yo girl with no one to block the bathroom for her and all the male cops walking back and forth in front of her.

What about people who live on Queen St. ? What about people going out for dinner?

People are allowed to walk down the street. This wasn't a restricted zone, this happened at Queen & Spadina.

Maybe they want to get them exposed to the real world rather than be sheltered? I mean I don't mean to tear gas and violence etc obviously, but the peaceful protests...

Even so wtf are the cops doing detaining 12 year olds?

some people in this thread are ing retarded! lol

Whats the big deal? If you were paying attention people began to sit down one after another. The police just gave them a little scare and scattered the crowd.

I really don't understand why everyone is running so high on emotions here.

Its the G ing 20 people. If you don't want trouble then stay home! And if you're stupid enough to go, at least get a sitter for your kids. Did the people today who decided to go out and protest NOT see last night's news? Morons.

Yep.

I also read they were going INTO coffee shops and arresting people. WTF, I'm sitting down having my afternoon iced coffee and I get arrested?

They probably did but last time I checked it's a free country and if I'm NOT in a protest area or security zone who the hell says I should stay at home locked up? What city/country am I living in?
