I seriously wonder what it is that Dalton is trying to cover up. The law was passed in secret and in error. He has a 16% approval rating. It really can't get much worse for him so he might as well just allow the public inquiry, because if the tories or NDP form a government, they will go ahead with it, just to play politics and slander the Liberal name even more.
There was a video hardcore trancer placed up on youtube of an NDP MPP giving a speach in the Queens park. He said, and with great validity, it is a very scary situation when citizens lose respect for the police and the laws in which they enforce. This is a slippery slope and Dalton is only making things worse by NOT accepting the inevitable and allowing the PI.
