Please get off your high hourse and enough with the condescending responces |
Funny you telling others to get off their high hourses.
| quote: | | it amazes me that except Halcyon and myself, noone else seemed to have been there during the weekend, yet are quick to jump on all sorts of bandwagons, insulting the intelligence of others involved in the debate because our point of view is the polar opposite. I mean, were you even there, or are you just paraphrasing the anger of those who were there, just because you know someone? I was there the entire Saturday evening, and I'm not pulling facts out of my ass - if others prefer to sit in the comfort of their own home and cry about heavily edited youtube videos, that doesn't downgrade my view. |
You were at the massive peaceful protests the entire evening? What groups were you with? and Why are you only focusing on the negatives here? we got your point already ( I think) the evil protestors ruined your life for 2 days and you couldnt go to Starbucks right across the street, I know it sucks but you really need to stop putting every god damn protestor in the same shoe here.
As someone already posted earlier many people are just ingnoring the thousands of people that were protesting for many great causes tryring to bring out issues that matters to all of us. |

I'm really tired of retyping my responces because you keep asking the same questions I've aleady answered:
a. Yes, Saturday was mostly peaceful, and the police were very professional and friendly
b. The evil protestors didn't not ruin my life - they ruined the weekend for many other people and caused damage to a massive area of small and big businesses (not once I have focused on MY OWN inconviniences, so please stop making it look like as if I'm crying about it). If I chose to stay home that whole weekend and watch the news in the comfort of my living room, I wouldn't be even having this debate. Were you downtown at all?
c. There were NOT thousands of peaceful protestors on the roads - people were moving in small groups and very dispersed. The only peaceful crowds around were the onlookers, like us, walking around and seeing what's going on. Oh, and maybe the dude with "Shut down Skynet" poster. That's as far as Saturday evening goes.
d. If these issues were oh so important to you, why weren't you right here, voicing them? |

I was trying to get to my office from Eaton Center last night, and got caught up in the protest. It looked pretty peaceful, and I watched it run up till Queen's Park. I was deliberately staying on the outside of the official march, back from the crowd, and back from the cops, walking up the middle of University in the 'garden walk area'.
Funnily enough, the cop still told me to either get in the parade or 'get away from him'. Even better, I saw a cop totally bail into a pile of bikes. It was very clumsy and funny, fellow officers quickly rushed over once they noticed he wasn't getting up on his own. |

and Kris, Ben was there, read his response I quoted earlier (ESPECIALLY the safe zone part). I don't have to be down there to have an opinion. I'm not saying yours is wrong either...just don't agree with some of what's being said that's all. |
