you are right...they have a right to protest and stand up for what the believe...but they do not have the right to disrupt the lives of other citizens and to make them fear leaving their own houses. If they want to go hold signs on the corner and stand there looking like idiots...go right ahead...but don't block traffic and become disturbers. Go ahead and stand in front of the parliament and chant and burn bras or whatever else they think will get their message heard. The reality is none of these tactics do to get things done.....this isn't the 60s....all they are doing is putting themselves in a position to get thrown in jail.
I get it, alot of you are pissed off about the inconvenience about the protesters are causing.
What about the inconvenience of the police taking drastic uncalled for action?
Some of it is not justified.

i wish less storefronts and businesses were damaged and more cop cars were burnt and police officers injured.

they wouldn't have to take any action if the protesters were not there. The protesters were not protesting anything from any video I've seen. Completely disorganized groups of people who have no real agenda other then to cause .
I've yet to see any violence by police that was not justified IMO. Like I said...the minute they disrupt the lives of others then IMO the police are justified to do what it takes to make our streets safe again for the citizens.

It's heartbreaking watching the news right now, where they're talking to small business owners, whose stores were trashed. And some of them were working when it happened, and feared for their lives. And the entire time they thought the police would come, and they didn't. They even called 911. Now it's Monday, and not a single cop has come to their store for them to even file a report. NICE.

So the queens park protest where 20,000 people were protesting real issues? You do know there were community activists and leaders there right?? How can you say they are disorganised and SOLELY there to cause ?

There were protests in last 50 years guys, and people who were fighting cops 50 years ago, are now sitting in front of TVs and saying, damn punks.
Grow up already.
Nothing will change.
You gonna get good job, married, wife, kids, minivan and will be watching same happening on TV from your house in 'burbs in 20 years and saying, damn punks.

At first they did not cause ...but the minute they saw any sign of police a group of protesters took off and started creating . You are right...not every protester is going to cause ...some will just back up and leave....these protesters are not the ones getting detained and they are the minority....not the majority. But once again....their tactics are useless as nobody will remember what they were protesting against. There are too many groups in one place protesting too many things that any message is lost in all the crap the follows.

Because the city police were occupied by this stupidity all weekend, I wonder if any "normal crimes" around the GTA were allowed to get more out of hand than usual...

I'm with you on the last part, my issue is the innocent people detained shouldn't have been to begin with. As to whether or not they were the minority is debatable.
