I'm not sure where you got that wording, but since it's a blanket statement across the insurance industry, I just did a google search on riots and insurance, and the only thing that came up were specific incidents where insurance companies were required to pay out losses in such instances.
Further research yielded statements supporting your case but instead of saying "does not cover" said : "stop writing this type of coverage in certain urban areas", which in no way states that these clauses no longer exist.
Furthermore, at least in the states, there is something called Federal Crime Insurance, which is the Federal Government's responsibility to make payments to those who are victims of riots and other Federal Crimes. Now, that may not be an insurance company per se, but I'd be quite content to allow the government to offset those costs if only to make them reconsider holding the g20 in this city, a city which didn't want the summit in the first place!
So, in a way, the government has traded in the rights of their citizens so that they can marginalize the cost of insurance claims put against them. Sounds like something I voted my representative into power for! |

| I honeslty wouldnt be surprised if they relate this to the G8 I mean after all they do have every right to stop or arrest anyone who looks suspicious. |

| quote: | 3:04 p.m., ALLAN GARDENS: "WHOSE PARK? OUR PARK!"
More than one thousand protesters have gathered in Allan Gardens as hundreds of police officers watch from a distance.
"Long live socialism, down with capitalism," some protesters chanted. One man played the theme song from the Rocky films on a trumpet while others nearby angrily shouted at police when they asked to search the bags of the three young men. "Whose park? Our park!" protesters chanted.
Protesters included communists, socialists, antipoverty activists, and vegetarians.
Gaetan Heroux of the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty said Allan Gardens has a history of political activism dating back to the Great Depression.
"You're in one of the strongest protest neighbourhoods in Toronto," Heroux said.
