entirely innocent people, including kids, getting caught up in ridiculous circumstances, through no fault of their own. |
This. (since we're going that way...lol.)
and Graham's comment about the chief of police not apologizing to innocent people, wtf man...this is my main annoyance after hearing about everything. |

Just avoid the entertainment district? Seriously whats the big deal?
It's like me telling you "Yo Chris, there's going to be a rave at a club and in all likelihood people are going to take drugs and shoot people. is gonna go down - avoid it for your own good.
Are you going to reply to me with - "You mean I can't dance all night at my favorite spot?? What about my freedoms!?" |

It all started w the black bloc anarachists and violence and the police overreaction as a result.
I'm just saying in some instances the police didn't react (ie burning f'n cop car and no cops around) and in others they really overreacted by detaining innocent people.
Overall I blame the Gov for only giving the city 3 mos to plan it and for throwing it in the city to begin with. (even Adam Vaugan was pissed about that and said so on Tv...) |

my family has a small store on a main street downtown and there wasn't a single cop around yesterday to try to stop all the vandalism that was going on....where were the Hurt Locker solders then huh? |

i blame the violent protesters, the ontario government for passing draconian laws and the police for abusing their power.
The G20 is a fact of life. We can debate its merits all we want but right now its our obligation to host it. I cant think of anywhere thats not urban that would have the same infrastructure for 10s of thousands of people involved in the G20 summit. (not even including the cops).
It was originally planned (G20) for huntsville as well and then they realized that they couldnt support 20 countries up there |

I agree. They're definitely not going to win any popularity contests, but from a tactical point I think they're doing a terrific job. |
Tactically, they should've deployed the damn water truck onto Queen yesterday when the black bloc douchebags were leading the pack... |

So throw it here and do it at Downsview OR the CNE grounds, not where a lot of the populations lives. I mean there's a poplulation in the areas I mentioned sure but not as dense no? |

Sure. They reacted late and when they did it was too late and went ape aprehending everyone to make up for it. (At least that's what it seems like to me) but can anyone verify this who was down there? |

That's not really true....the G8 was held there and many other countries were invited to discuss certain issue which brought the number up to almost 20 although it was still technically considered a G8 summit.
If politicians didn't bring an entourage of hundreds of people then it would have been feasible to host this even in Huntsville and therefore avoided all this mayhem, and it would have saved us millions. |
