Since the other thread is about the ridiculous cost of this whole thing, I though I'd start one for the goings on of summit itself...
I'll start with the motorcades have started as the 427 was closed today...
Also there are no RESCU cameras avail online for the 427 although the Gardner is online and traffic is extremely light... |

Not sure if this is what you meant but they're boarding up the street level windows in my building (2 blocks from the red zone).
Handy to have a Blackberry for traffic right about now :D |

I just recieved this as an IM.... dont have a source - apparently it's on CityTV
Police arrest man with weapon-laden car near security zone
Police have arrested a 53-year-old man who allegedly drove near the G20 security zone with a car packed with weapons – including a crossbow and a chainsaw.
The man was arrested just after 1 p.m. near The Esplanade and Church Street by the Novotel hotel. A silver Hyundai was surrounded by police at the scene who reportedly unloaded a case on top of the car containing several weapons.

| by my work, university and college, about 8 cops were interogating 3 young skater kids with " the G20" T-shirts on. The kids seemed harmless enough. |

they pulled him over because the car looked suspicious. It's a bit scary - I have faith in the police and obviously security is intense... but what about the cars that don't look suspicious? |

Honestly, I like reading stuff like this. These extremists are out there and you're lying to yourself if you say they're not, and news like this makes me think these security measures are effective to some degree. |

Are you at work today?? I thought the University was close. ( to get access to my building during this rest of the week was a bitch, so all my stuff is on hold)..
Even yesterday when the small protest was passing by the building the Police locked the building and we couldn't get in.... :rolleyes: |
