Thanks, signed.

I don't know how anybody couldn't support an independent inquiry at this point

You know the excuse I'm hearing from people? they say that having an independent inquiry is a waste of tax payers money. Excuse me but we just in spent 1 Billion dollars for G20 and you call this waste of tax payers money? WOW just WOW

Ok so to end this discussion:

ALL protesters are douchebags who even if they were peaceful should NOT have been protesting because of the few bad apples that spoiled the entire thing. It just makes them 'look' like accomplices. Oh no.

The cops were completely justified in aprehending any and everyone they deemed necessary for the good of the people and summit going on.

EOD. ;)

it should be more like:

All protesters need to find a more effective way of promoting their cause because clearly disrupting the peace on public streets isn't doing it.

The police did what they were instructed to do however there needs to be an investigation into those providing instruction to the police.

Before an independent inquiry is completed a transparent internal inquiry needs to be done. If an independent inquiry is completed it will not be for quite some time.

Meanwhile chief bill blair should be forced to resign. He admitted to lying about the public works act and he was caught misleading the media when it came to the display of so called weapons seized by protesters.

BTW i didnt realize that string, water bottles, and hot sauce were considered weapons in our fine country

I don't disagree that Blair needs to resign.....his actions and stupidity have put a lot of things into question.

First part no, second part sure/yes.

Means of promoting a cause comes in many forms, if you disagree with one doesn't mean it's wrong. If I feel the need to rant on the street corner like a raving lunatic spewing crap about the bible (like that guy on queen st I have the right to do that). Some people consider that disrupting the peace, it all depends on HOW you protest in the street. All I'm saying is what's wrong with this method?

You think it does nothing, say it does and you think it's useless, what's wrong with me doing it anyway? It causes no harm and doesn't affect you, what's the problem? (Keep in mind just to reiterate, I'm talking of peaceful chanting, singing, protesting, typical 60s stuff...)

I'm not talking about the idiots damaging property. Obviously that's retarded.

I have no issue with peaceful protest like you describe that doesn't turn into marching down the streets and closing off the use of those streets....if people want to do that I see no problem with that....it that was done on the weekend then we wouldn't even have this thread. I still feel that is an ineffective way of bringing on change...if you truly want to bring around change. All that does is make the person feel good about themselves because they can say they did something...even though they really didn't do anything.

An example of effective protesting is what is going on between the TTC and residence in an area where they want to add additional exits at the Donlands and Greenwood subway stations. The residence contacted their MPP and made arrangements to meet with the TTC. They came to the meeting and made the TTC answer their questions. They also came prepared with alternatives to what the TTC was planning.
These same people could have just held up signs and burned bras but that wouldn't have gotten any results. At least this way they've opened up communication with the TTC.
