It sucks the videographer cut out the parts before the video started. It's not raw video when someone chooses to select a certain point as a starting point that achieves the message we wants to send. I'm sure the part before it starts would shed a different story and probably give reason as to why they were sourrounded and arrested.
Regarding the boots... Every hiking store in Toronto carries boots and shoes with Vibram soles.

the city could've very easily been put under martial law two days ago... and after the actions of a small group of anarchist on saturday... any legitimate protest group would've had to have been all drugged up, stuck on stupid with a slight touch of the downs to even THINK.. they were marching, peacefully or not.. south towards the entertainment district.

Well I've watched the video several times....I still don't see what happened for say the three hours before the video starts....there is a lot more that goes on before the video starts....they weren't blocked into that area for hours on end. I'm sure they had several warnings about what was going to happen...and even a retarded deaf blind person with a stutter would have realized they should get the out of there well before it go to that situation.

The video starts with the protesters surrounded by riot cops. The viewer doesn't know what happened before that, or if the protesters had caused trouble previously.
While we live in unprecedented times having dozens, if not hundreds, of video/photographic views of a situation. Naturally context is still important and there's a lot more to this story than a couple hundred cops surrounding a dozen peaceful protesters.
