Which is why if I was one of those hooligans, I'd buy those boots at a surplus store, and made sure I would get caught with them with the media's lenses at me. Smart move on their part to further the hate for cops. Bravo.

There were protests in last 50 years guys, and people who were fighting cops 50 years ago, are now sitting in front of TVs and saying, damn punks.
Grow up already.
Nothing will change.
You gonna get good job, married, wife, kids, minivan and will be watching same happening on TV from your house in 'burbs in 20 years and saying, damn punks.

Repost from page 34 of this very same tread, for those of you who think police was setup by evil protesters.
All these cases happened in diff. countries in last 3 years.

G20 police 'used undercover men to incite crowds'

Another example of authorities attempting to provoke chaos at global summits in order to justify a brutal police crackdown.

ACLU wants probe into police-staged DNC protest

Stop SPP Protest - Union Leader stops provocateurs

The 3 so called "protesters" caught wearing exactly same boots as cops who're arresting them:

Protest Underway At Police Headquarters

A large crowd, estimated at upwards of 1000 people, has gathered outside of police headquarters at College and Bay to protest police conduct during the G20 Summit.

Police have pushed everyone off the north side of College St., and have created a line of bicycles in front of police headquarters.

There have been unconfirmed reports of people seen behind the Delta Chelsea Hotel changing into black clothing.

College Street is now totally blocked between Yonge and Bay

Never mind picture, it's just screen shot from clip above it in Quebec, 2007. Just watch whole thing.

It's heartbreaking watching the news right now, where they're talking to small business owners, whose stores were trashed. And some of them were working when it happened, and feared for their lives. And the entire time they thought the police would come, and they didn't. They even called 911. Now it's Monday, and not a single cop has come to their store for them to even file a report. NICE.

Sad.

Here's how the gov/cops/isu/rcmp should have handled the G-20. Don't use a public works legal loop to get more powers to the cops. Make the perimeter/fence a military boundary.
You are allowed outside the boundary, but if you make it over the fence, lethal weapons allowed. If you take down the fence, lethal weapons allowed. Plaster the whole fence with crystal clear warnings. /problem

Allow protesters to protest whereever freely (unlike this weekend where cops kept redirecting protests). However, any vandalism while protesting should carry a harsher penalty than regular vandalism. And by that, I mean criminal charges and high fines. This would help reinstate some peace in protests and bring them back to their original intent.

Now use cops only to manage vandalism and the fence from the inside. This way, there's less confrontation, which is the main cause things escalated so much. It was about who had the biggest balls to stand the police force and there was plenty of force to stand against. Also, businesses can be more reassured they wont be vandalized and if it does occur, cops will take care of it like they should instead of doing stupid standoffs.

this is a very disturbing video from queen and spadina last night.
i defy anyone to watch this and conclude the police were justified in what they did:

why didn't they leave the area well before it got to that situation. The police were definitely justified in all actions they took. They had ample opportunity to leave before it got to that situation.

you didn't even watch the video, did you?
you'd know the answers to your own questions if you did only that much.
